I L O V E Y O U A SURVEY from anti-virus vendor MessageLabs indicates that more than a third of business e-mail users across the UK would still open such a message on Feb. 14, despite the notoriety attained by the e-mail worm, which is estimated to have wreaked $7 billion worth of damage worldwide. MessageLabs research indicates that Internet users remain vulnerable to computer viruses and worms designed to appeal to their sense of curiosity. It found that 54 percent would open an e-mail entitled Great Joke, 50 percent Look at this, 46 percent Re. Message, 40 percent No title and 39 percent special offer.

That's ok Fox, I just got tagged by I.E. itself. Anyone who hasn't done their updates in the last few weeks need to get their uncovered bottoms over to MS update and do it. I thought my monitor was going, then my MB, turns out I was getting nuked. I even told my lil brother that's what it looked like. Anyone who has ever gone out on mIRC has probably been exposed to the little rats who hide out and nuke people, that's why I don't go out on irc anymore, got tired of it. At any rate, the only way I knew what was happening was when I ran eSafe (free at www.esafe.com) and it let me know that I.E. was trying to run a script on my computer. Did the updates and so far it seems to have worked...appears to have plugged the holes. I know this it OT, but sometimes a warning can save a ton of grief. I will be checking daily now for new updates. 8^) Marque

It's always a good idea to check out the hoax control site before opening ANYTHING that seems suspicious. I use SARC, at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html. We had such a terrible time last year at work with folks continuing to open these viruses and worms and it disrupted our work for weeks because people continued to ignore the warnings and open them. I just delete anything that has a weird title without opening them anyway, but sometimes I'll check out SARC for information just to make sure. Even if it is just a hoax, I delete it so as not to perpetuate it. Melanie

My advice to everyone is: Also apply this logic to the Python Scripts that will be released over the coming months. I feel really sorry for those who might think they are getting a COOOOL effect, when they could actually be nuking their computer and Poser characters...
