Working man/woman Industrial sounds challenging.. Here is the link to the guidleines and past challenges."The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the
absence but in the mastery of his passions."
could i get just a little clarification on one please :) antiques/nostalgic mood...i'm not seeing the connection between the two. if i vote for this challenge, what exactly is a "nostalgic" mood as opposed to any other kind of mood? do you mean like looking back and remembering something...a picture of a memory? just seems a little bit vague and i wanna kinda clarify what that means. thanks a bunch!!! :)
I would like a challenge that depicts the haves and have-nots.. But this is not a choice here.(But I do think it would be quite a challenge to get a good one) Maybe somethime int the future? Whatever is decided here is most cool w/me. I sau any of the above but song titles...aand that's no vote ;-)"-) /Jeff :-)
Okay, what's wrong with song titles? I had "I'm a bitch" all picked out JK!LOL:) Seriously, I like the Alphabet soup, but I'm easy and could go with any of them. A couple of suggestions for future challenges: Underground Grace Natures Fractals

Now this is excellent!! I love these new rules!! 2 entries is great cos, right now, it's far too much!! There's entries all over the place, also from people who just pop in to post and ciao bye bye never hear from them anymore!! So annoying!! Love the idea of the banner change too!! Let's not advertise too much for the challenge huh! ;) LOL!! As for next month challenge, I'll go with the 5 senses too!!
OOOH OOOOH OOOH, i can smell a favorite already...and seeing how i dont want to swim against the currant i shall lay my vote on 5 senses too...YAY! Hmmm...since "sight" is one of those senses...shouldnt any object that is visible to my eyes count???
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

if the choice is SENSES... let's keep it difficult & challenging... what is the message? am i just looking at a photo through your eyes or are you saying something about eyesight, how bout the loss of vision? how about combining the senses... taking a picture & saying this speaks about the sense of vision cuz it's what i see is NON-SENSE!! & will probably be critiqued as such :D scowling Message edited on: 05/30/2005 12:41
MY GOD WOMAN!!! I was trying to be sassy...sigh...well shouldnt wander to deep into your territory i suppose #:op "NON-SENSE".....ROFLMAO!!! Now that is just too darn cheeky, lol. #:oD

Hi, well I would also go for the 5 senses....(although some people would claim to have more than 5, how they would capture them I am not sure). I think it'll be good, just have to rely on people (me included) being a bit more creative with the idea, thinking outside the box and all that kinda stuff.
David edit: do I see still life as already being done in Dec03, way before my time here, I know it could be pretty broad in subject matter. I sure there is a reason, just pointing it out cowering DY

true!! better make that 6 senses! ESP, deja vu, premonition & all that... we can brainstorm as we go... lots to explore with this one... i'm harmless, no need to cower brandishing sparkley rhinestone paddle about... right andreas? :] yes i noticed that after putting it up there, nothing saids we can't redo stilllife... good practice for lighting & composition

Right Cindy...that paddle is reserved for me i reckon, LOL. #:op

yup, all good, still life would be interesting, as would all the subject I spose, but my vote of course is still for the senses. I was just thinking (tough job), reading about sharks with electroreception (detection of ambient electric fields and stuff) and I know crocs/aligators have extra chemoreceptors, how this relates back to photography, not sure> actually not sure at all, but I'm sure the senses could evoke some interesting responses. anyway, enough rambling, lol Andreas, I should have guessed :)
Wow I just spent half hour reading the "lack of comments" post! I totally missed that. Tells you how much time I have to spend in the forum. Seems like there are so many things to consider and think about. I really am thankful to all of you that make this site work as well as it does. As for me I do the best I can juggling four businesses, ten houses, and fourteen partners to come to daily consensus with. I hope you all can accept my limited comments and contribution. I value all of your time spend making this a wonderful place to learn, share and escape when I need to; You all have become a second family to me:}
Oh... one more thing I vote for Exploring the 6 senses.

I'll tell you what my idea is if Exploring Five Senses gets chosen. I've been wanting to take pictures blind. seriously i've been wondering what would happen if i lost my eyesight and became unable to shoot. would i still be able to take pictures? Well, we all know Beethoven was able to compose music after he became deaf. 'course he was genius...LOL! but, i've been wanting to explore this for awhile. this would be a good excuse if it gets chosen.
I think that conveying one of the 5 senses is not to be blind, but to take a photo to represent a sense. To show a depiction of what the sense does. This will be a hard one if picked. I hope that a lot of thought goes into it. For instance not just a photo of a food item for taste.Or a picture of a speaker for hearing.I would like to hear some ideas from people on what they percieve this to be. Or is that cheating LOL
"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the
absence but in the mastery of his passions."
Doug, i disagree. taking my self portrait of myself blind would definitely represent a sense on two levels. I would show what it feels like to have something tied around my eyes and be blinded (LaCK OF SIGHT). AND i would be taking the picture WITHOUT using one of my senses. ok, let's take the sense of TASTE. I can see myself taking my self portrait of me, again blinded...doing, say for instance...a TASTE TEST!! Hah! what a challenge to take the picture blindfolded! a non-blind folded idea: smell: capture an old style perfume bottle which is being sprayed. show the mist in the air. that's enough from me. i'm sleepy. nighty night guys. :)
Hi guys.Personally I could go for most of them, and the 5 senses and Cindy's nostalgia idea would be fun.But I loved doing my self-portrait recently because it was so very challenging to do so.(Although doing another would be twice as hard now...).And I like the idea of 'seeing' everybody and how they represent themselves.By the same token, having only done one or two in the past I like the challenge of still life as well. But I would suggest limitations on it,such as the shot must be of composed objects that the photographer has arranged, otherwise 'still life' can be way too broad.I would definately not like to do working man/woman.That one holds zero interest to me.I could do it but really don't find that exciting at all.Oh,and monochrome(B&W) still seems a bit broad as well. How long do I have to decide my vote.Today?

I like all of the topics, but 5 senses seems most interesting for this coming month.
Kort Kramer - Kramer Kreations
Even though the general tide seems to be for the 5 senses,I'm going to pick still life. But that's because it already gave me an idea.So I'm going to try to do one anyway. So thter's my vote!
