Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Sorry PhilC - not sure what you mean. In Poser 5 if you were in the graph editor you could grab the green play head bar (cursor would change to an arrow pointing right & left). You could then move (scrub) the green bar to the right or left and as long as your AVI was compressed you could watch the AVI movie play. So you could scrub back and forward to get a sense of timing. Poser 6 only updates the AVI movie when you stop at a frame and release the left mouse button - this is completely useless.
Hi Little Dragon the arrow keys work, but not in any way that is useful to me. Pressing the left and right arrow keys will make you plod painfully slow through the AVI. Also due to keyboard caching you will over shoot the place you wanted to stop. Bring back the way it worked in Poser 5, you could move (scrub) back and forward in the graph editor at varying speeds and you could stop at precisely the frame you wanted.
Hi Dr Geep, thanks for the graphic - I really hope this is fix by E-Frontier as it's such a fundamental function. To be frank I can't use Poser 6 until it's fixed - I need to have control over my reference material in the background (I thought that the recent service pack would have fixed it, but it doesn't).

I don't believe it - a function I used all the time in Poser 5 isn't available in Poser 6. You use to be able to import an AVI movie into the background and scrub the timeline. In real time you could view the movie as you scrubbed, now you can't. This is a fundamental function - if you place reference material behind your character you need to have your reference update as you scrub the timeline. If e-Frontier reads this please fix this as this is such a basic necessity.
