Okay, here's my next one. I think it's a bit underpopulated this time. I'll keep trying. Any suggestions?

quite cool. one thing i would suggest though is to lose the lens flare. so many people do it it's become cliche. otherwise, pretty cool. i'd add some more texturing to the big planet :)

Use a more expensive lense. Cheaper lenses usually flare more than the expensive ones. Flares, like spices, are best used sparingly.

ZBrush demo makes good ship textures too.

Add shirt to the texture.

Since it is space try making the gas a color. One of the nebula textures are great play with it make it a bit more colorful and strange. Good pic overall try adjusting the two lens flares on the ship tey seem a bit to much the one on the planet is great.

Mmm... Trouble is, I don't have photoshop lol. I made that texture in Paint Shop Pro. It's the first one I've ever attempted completely from scratch, and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm using Gimp for the lens flare because it's free. Unfortunately Gimp has one setting and one setting only for lens flare, and that's IT. So, I can't change it at all, only positioning. Maybe I can do something with it in PSP, erasing the lens flare because I like the look of that star popping out from behind the planet... So... adh3d, would you mind telling just what exactly "shirt" does? There is no corresponding feature in PSP but perhaps I can duplicate it the old-fashioned way (dodge and burn, dodge and burn =P). Thanks everyone!

The planet is a little to sharp on edges, so it feels like its stamp on paper. Try to use big red "lens flare" on the edge of the planet, and add the same red "outher glow" to the edge of the planet. It will give the impression of sun coming in front.

Yeah, I agree about the planet. Here's a tut on how to create really cool planets. Unfortunately, its in Photoshop. Hopefully, you'll be able to adapt the techniques to Paintshop. The rest is looking really cool though. lol @ UVDan.

Thanx bandolin, that's another really great tut. I wonder, how many more of those do you have up your sleeve? =)

Since I can't figure out how to do anything myself, I depend greatly on tutorials. I'm just stupid that way. lol No, seriously, I'm really stupid.
