Subject: Problems with Firefly Render in P5

I normally like to use the Firefly render machine for my poser pics, but lately I've found that although it "apparently" seems to do the render (the little box disappears after a short time) the picture doesn't develop beyond the top few inches! It's OK if I'm just rendering one character, preferably with no clothes on, over a black background, but if I try to do a proper scene, I'm having to resort to P4 rendering. It's as though my computer is running out of RAM. Here's the spec of the PC.. Intel[R] Pentium [R] 4 CPU 3.01GHz; 1GB RAM; 50GB hddve with 25.1GB free. I recently did a defrag, and regularly clear cookies and temp + offline temp files. Is there something else I need to do? I'm certain this computer should be up to coping with Firefly and the larger scenes!

Is the light at the end of the tunnel my way out, or is it an oncoming train just about to make me extinct?

P.S. I forgot to say that I use Windows XP SP2.

I have had similar problems like the one you have mentioned and possible cause i have found is the prop and texture may be corrupted. I suggest that you load systematically each prop or charcter and then render the scene each time till you find the render stops as you have mentioned above. This will diagnose what is at fault.

I had that on one pic recently. It went about 1/2 way and stopped as if complete. I finally switched to the p4 render to get it finished.

I have that problem all the time if I use more than one figure in the scene or if I use a single figure and a lot of props. I almost never use the firefly render any more because of that. I have alt-ctrl-delete to shut poser down that is the only way to stop it. I once let it run for almost 48 hours and it didn't progess any futher than about half way. what is funny is that it never stops in the same place twice. Also, I can render the scene using firefly and it will work fine. Then I change a pose and that's all I do and locks up. I have a P4 dell computer running windows xp with 1 gig of ram memory....
