Hi Folks,
So close..... 4:00 this afternoon we thought we had it all buttoned up but just at the last we found a glitch. Nothing earth shattering, but enough to be very annoying. If an existing skirt has a body handle it is throwing out the grouping, and causes a corruption when saving the clothing to the library.
What we have decided to do is this; we have prepared a set of update files that we invite you to test. They are for the full program. They will work in the demo but wont add any extra functionality. (Demo = P4 & P5 adults only). As this update stands at the moment if the existing skirt has body handles you would need to go into the Set Up room, select the handle and delete the bone, that's all. No existing body handles, no problem.
If we try and rush this update out the door under pressure it will probable have to be followed by another one tomorrow. We would rather get it right.
So to recap, the current version is working pretty darn well judging from the forum posts and renders we've seen. We are addressing the fine tuning and would rather get it right than rushed. If Poser 6 users apply the update they will be up to speed also.
The link to the file is in the Yahoo forum and on my site very shortly
Thanks,
Sounds like he's busy with the update stuff. I can wait. I only purchased it a little over an hour ago. :) I was just confused by there being two emails confirming and neither had the link. I didn't know it would be three emails. You can add my vote for the Sixus Project Human people to be next in line for support!

I've done an animation with a Snape in ..uhm.. women's underwear so I don't understand why people say it's not for animators?!?!?!
ALSO... if you convert the clothes without welding it, you can transfer ALL morphs from the original clothing with MorphManager and it's really EASY.. then you just weld it and hey presto: A new set of clothing WITH morphs! I did so with the PoserWorld "Hogwarts" robe which I converted from Luke to David and then included all the morphs. it works PERFECTLY!
(for those who would like to see my animation, please PM me as it is VERY not worksafe and as such can't be linked to from this place. Or if anyone is on LiveJournal, it's available there.. my Username on LJ is TrekkieGrrrl)
And OMG I simply love and adore this program/Python/whatever!!!

I'm in the process of updating the Poser Robinsons now that I have Poser 6. I'm still using the Poser 4 Characters at the moment but I've converted Will & Penny from Juvenile height adult characters to the Poser 4 Nude Boy and Nude Girl characters using PhilC's new Wardrobe Wizard to convert the clothing. Here's the progress so far:
After these are done I'll see how the Poser 6 people look Lost In Space.
ernyoka1, Could you please detail the steps you followed to get the morphs on the PW robe? I tried converting to a figure without welding, saved that to the library and then transferred the morphs via morph manager but when I tried them out in Poser some of the morphs would just explode. Do you have to weld the .obj first before the morphs work? And if so, how?
Got Wardrobe Wizard a day or so ago, and had a couple of goes... Well it's excellent, And VERY easy to use, thought i would give it a road test on V3 clothing converted to the GIRL, as that's a hard one to cross over to, and it worked very well, (Minor poke through on the breasts, and corrected with minor alterations). Have to say this is a really good bit of software.. Cheers PhilC...
Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.
PhilC, you are a genius! Thank you!:o)
Warangel, here is for you.
Jeans, turtle neck and shoes from PhilC's clothes pack for V3 converted to Jessi. Took approx. 10 minutes.
A little poke through on forearms only. The shoes got a little "wrinkled".
Just love this application!
Just think of the shoes as "broken in" - a value-added special effect at no extra cost! [grin]
Before they made me they broke the mold!

I have a question that may make or break my decision to purchase: Does the conversion take into account already morphed figures? That is, if I set the 'Muscular' dial for a figure, will the converted clothes be fixed for this or not? Now, I'm not complaining and this looks to be invaluable, but I rarely use figures without making body adjustments.

Yes just set the morphs you want into the "Convert To" figure and when the clothing is converted it takes those into consideration. It does not generate the morphs in the clothing, it just fits. Because it is the work of only a couple of button clicks, should you decide to change the morph just convert the clothing again. Conversion To processing time is just a few seconds. Conversion From take a little longer but only needs to be done once. The analysis data is stored for future conversions. Because its that easy you may want to think in terms of converting on demand rather than filling your hard drive with several versions of the same clothing you may not use often.
I was in on the public beta .. an excellent progrom and about bloody time too :) So as soon as I get paid (tomorrow) I'll be picking up a copy and then churning out many conversions/updates for PW stuff. Whee. This gives me a chance to update the texturing for some of our classics and really explodes the wardrobe possibilities for characters we havent had much support for. Phil hugs thanks! thou art most cool and groovy :) Lyrra
Thank you, PhilC! This is exactly the information that I wanted to know! :) Where's my wallet?! ;)

When I read this thread I immediately bought Wardrobe Wizard and got a download link in about 10 mins.
I have watched Phil with interest and used his products for around 7, (maybe) 8 years and everything he has produced for free (a huge amount!) and commercially has been highly innovative and of a very high quality and always worthwhile. He has always been generous with both his time and his products and also with his teaching. These and other forums are full of his help to newbees and experienced users
While I have not even tried the demo yet or the full program, if this does even half of what it promises, it is a major development for Poser and worthy of great praise.
It just goes to prove - yet again - that all the major innovations in Poser have come from the little guys with the big hearts and the ability and tenacity to realise their ideas.
Good on ya Phil! I hope you make a mint out of this. You deserve it. Congrats to Kamilche as well.

The characters have to be hard coded into the Wardrobe Wizard to be converted to/from This sounds like a job for EXTERNAL FILE MAN! (in big booming superhero announcer voice) Instead of 'hardcoding' into the plugin each new figure supported by the plugin, create and read a 'configuration' file that contains all of the necessary data. Then you write one program and continue to increase its scope through a simple (or not so simple) file. Or is that the current approach? (still looking for my wallet.) ;)

Ohhhh it's not the regular pay pal only site ... eeekkk! I am going to try the demo and it's update asap, and then most likely come back and get it before I can't afford the "regular price"... hmmm England right? So if I order REALLY LATE at my time here in California, then I bet Phil will be there to process it! :))) Er.. the payment thing says it's here in the states.. confused... uh.. so when is the best time to order? Thanks all who have commented and especially the PICTURES! I can't help but think that some clothing makers are having fits a little bit... but what makes this a GO for me is when I read the supported characters includes the new Anton Apollo (spell?) that I DO plan on getting.. but can't afford a lot of new clothes (especially when I will most likely be getting skin textures for him...!!)... well this wardwrobe wizard may be a real life (credit card budget) saver!!! OHhh wait a minute...!! Phil your whole site is not just pay pal anymore!! Ohh noooo... budget is in trouble now!! Thanks so much for changing it over...! :))

Ahhh wait... I see in the demo... nope...can't use that to test... got rid of P5 folks.. think I just need to BUY the program... but I do have a question before I do... I ASSUME we as owners of the first one will get updates... to... ?? (often the updates included with a purchase are limited to a certain number.. or did I read somewhere we will get unlimited updates?? sleepy here too.) Thanks for the help!

@ Kalypso Sorry for the lateish reply, I'm unfortunately without internet at home atm. Anyway: here's what you do. Convert the clothing but when you hit Convert To, use the No weld option. Save the clothes to the palette as usual and use morph manager to transfer the morphs. Save. Load the clothes again now with morphs and use the Weld button in WW to weld it. Save the new, now welded clothes to the palette again (just overwrite the previous) And now you have a morphing piece of converted clothes :o) Easy peasy :o)

Thanks :) Unfortunately my issues with WW are getting weirder by the minute, it converts inconsistently, sometimes the clothes conform, most of the time they don't. If I don't see a yellow outline during the process they do not conform. I'm beginning to suspect it might be the original meshes that have the problem. But I've also had certain meshes that wouldn't conform no matter what - and then on the 6th or 7th attempt I'd get the yellow outline and then it would work. So, at best, it's quite haphazard for me after the updates :( Could someone who has a Poserworld subscription, Mike 1 and Hiro try converting the Model Leather Jeans and Model Shirt and the Santa Cruz pants and Santa Cruz top? The Model Shirt finally converted after 5-6 attempts. The rest just get resized, look ok but I either see the magnets being applied or nothing during the process, no yellow outline, and therefore no conforming after the conversion.
Couple of points:-
There are a couple of items of clothing that are causing errors and we are trying to track down the cause. A suspicion is geometry switching, or maybe an error in the clothing geometry that only the Wardrobe Wizard is picking out.
Yes Lyne, it can get confusing trying to keep up :) To clarify,
Kalypso, I'll try those as soon as I get home (providing my Internet has come back, which it should :o) Phil.. 01.zip? 02.zip? Where'd you get those? I feel like I'm missing something. I've had some clothes it won't convert, it gives me an "Out of range" error.. but then I haven't tried any updates so that might help... I also got some "spikes" on some of the clothes, not sure if it's a grouping error or a problem with the JP's. In any case I'm VERY satisfied with WW! I just want to know what causes the Out of Range issue. Any ideas?= (it happens EVERY time on the Dark Wizard M2-dress from PoserWorld. Now I wonder if Steve groups his clothes in a way that confuses WW since it seems there's more PW clothes that has issues. Then again I've also converted a lot of clothes that just works perfectly)

Phil, I just got the email with the link, thanks! Ernyoka, whenever you get the time will be fine, just want to make sure it's not my installation or something else. I've also not been able to convert lots of V1/2 clothing from various sources, not just PW. I get the feeling that the script just stops working before it completes the conversion. Just when I'm supposed to see a material change and a yellow outline, instead it just stops. The clothes "look" converted but do not conform. I'll try with WW_02 and the update, maybe that's the problem. Just three more hours left to download LOL!
I got mine... I think... got two e mails confirming my order was processed...and now just holding my breath for my download link... should go get the SR while I wait I guess... and look around Phil's whole store??? oh oh... dangerous! At any rate... this is pretty exciting! I didn't get an answer to my one question on "updates" as the bugs are worked out, but feeling pretty confident that Phil will take care of one and all, what with his practically being an icon in the poser world after all these years! ;) Sorry I do not know "Kamilche" - but THANKS to you too!! :)) Lyne
