Hi, I am using Vue D'espirit 4 and I have seen loads of images in the gallery and elsewhere of scenes with really detailed trees, the type of thing you could go close to and it is crystal clear. How do you do it?? I have used the trees that come with Vue 4 and mine look pretty average at best? So is there a secret? On a side note a lot of my trees are purple. Thanks Jon www.jonsmedia.com

Don't know about what images you are talking, but a some people use external programs to create trees. XFrog for example. Or TreePro. These are highly specialised programs for detailed trees and plants. But there are some shareware programs for trees too. You can find some links in the backroom here.

I have xfrog 3.2, got it on the cover of a magazine, does that import into Vue do you know?? Thanks Jon

Not directly. Do a search here, someone explained the process in a lot of detail once. But you always should be able to export from XFrog in a format Vue is able to read. obj for example or 3DS. Or lwo. You should check that out!

I don't(yet...LOL) have X-Frog, but what a lot of us do is use .jpgs like those available here http://lemog.club.fr/index.html#...look under Bois Ecorce...(they are free BTW) and map them to the trees in VUE! With a bit of tweaking you can get some great looking trees that will look quite good, even in closeups!

There are also lots of free plant models around, again check the backroom. If you use XFrog you'll soon be able to make those wonderfully detailed veggies too! The problem with the free 3.02 version, is that it can't export directly in a format Vue can read. I had the same version before upgrading to v3.5 ( this one exports in all major formats). With v3.02, you need another 3D app like Maya, lightwave or Max. As these softwares don't come cheap, you can use educational versions of Maya & Lightwave, they are fully functionnal, so you can import your xfr files into them, with the free Xfrog plug ins, and export them in lwo or obj. Then import those files in Vue.

I haven't tried it, but I think that only the renders are watermarked, I don't think they can watermark objects. As I understand it, the software is fully functionnal, which means you can do everything within the app, only the renders are limited in size and watermarked.
