Hi folks, I'm planning to release a material package for Carrara dedicated to metallic shaders . And i need your help : - Didn't i miss something ? Is there any kind of metal i should add ? And if you got some special request, speak now ! I gotta fill that screen ;) - About the name ... What do you think about " 24 metallic shaders for Carrara " ? Too descriptive, i know ... Any better idea ? - Where do you think i should sell that ? Renderosity, of course, B-bay maybe ? Or others ? - And finally : the price . Does 15$ sounds cheap enough ? I don't know Clint's "Shades of reality" ( i got no money to buy anything ), but i looks like it's very cheap for the quality ! All ideas or suggestions are very welcome ! Questions, too . Thanks in advance . litst litst.@freesbee.fr

It all sounds and looks good - can't wait to grab 'um.

Cool! We need more products for Carrara. My shader pack has 200+ shaders for $24.00. $15.00 sounds like a fair price. A side note. If you sell at BBay you cant sell anywhere else. They require exclusive sales of products. Rendersity doesnt require this. Keep us updated. Clint PS - The name sounds cool.

Here is an ideal..how about tarnished bronze (with the green stuff on it) Also are these all proceedural? how adjustable are they? IE can you change how rusty #1 is pretty easily?

How about a solid metal grate type texture? Kind of like you would find on the floor. I know I would definetly buy this so let us know when it is available. Stacey

Thanks for your comments and info ! The tarnished bronze is on my list, and the metal grate ... I don't see exactly what it means . But i'll do a floor : the kind of things you can find in a building site . Most of the shaders will be procedural, though some fairly complex computer-generated textures will be used for some of them (wire fence, chainmail, floor) . I'm working on optimizing the shaders to make them easily editable . And i think some of them will be splitted in additionnal mixes ( rust,dust,dirt...) with "reference shader" channels . litst litst.@freesbee.fr

Nice, very good work. Looking forward to them.

Well if it has good editablity then I'm in :) Of course I have been meaning to buy Clints pack for about 6 months now :) You guys should get together and sell the "Carrara Ultimate Shader Pack" I think the real problem is that I feel bad buying shaders b/c I know I should make them myself. Does the whole American Economic situation revolve around laziness? :)

$15 sounds more than fair to me, I'll be buying them. I don't know if any of y'all have seen the wood shaders I did on the Bryce side, but I'm working on the same thing for Cararra, and admittedly it is slow going, but I'm getting there.

Hi Brent, That would be great if Clint and i would do a "ultimate shader pack" ! What do you think, Clint ? Let's keep that in mind ... Concerning the editability : when you'll edit the shader in the shaders room, only the useful channels will be open . Also, i'll add a text file to guide the user on some particular shaders . I too feel bad to deprive Carrara users to make shaders themselves ! As a lot of people say, the shader editor is the most powerful feature in C, it's a shame not to use it ! But i've learnt (and still learn) a lot by viewing other people's shaders, and that's why i'm trying to make "original" ones . But they got to be useful, too ... litst litst.@freesbee.fr

litst, Yea, Lets keep that in mind. Im sooo back logged right now that it would have to be donw the road a bit. Good luck with the shaders! I've sold a boat load of Shades of Reality packs over the last year. Clint

Clint's shaders are great - not only to use but also for learning how to make your own! They were well worth the $24, thanks Clint! Look forward to checking out your shaders litst! Jade
