Hi all, I was out last weekend climbing and one evening I was photographing the sunset. I made pic over pic from all different angles and I would like to ask you which of them you prefer: A: zoomed as close as possible after the sun disapeard.

C: sunset later in the evening ... I personally like this one a lot because of the shadow beams hidden clouds are making

The colors in number one are just gorgeous! Too bad you didn't have the sillouhette of a mountain or a dead tree or something in there! The second one has a lot of soul, I like the way you did the sillouhette here. This is a wonderful image! And well number three is very spiritual to me, I really like the rays! Wish it had the coloring of number one, and some sillouhetting in it! The coloring of number one is a winner, and the rays in number three are beautiful as well, but the sillouhetting combined with the coloring in number two makes it my choice. Brenda :)

1 has great colors but minimal elements to create interest. 2 is good, but I'd like to see more of the sunset and have her head less centered. I'd go with 3, but crop off most of the foreground--just below the light spots. There is no visible detail in it anyway. It puts more of the focus on that great sky! That is what I would do anyway. :)

Oooh, tough one...i agree with Kort though. The first one is less interesting, it has nice colours but nothing else...but then chosing between the other two is hard. Even though the sky looks amazing in number 3, i would have to say that my favorite is without a doubt number 2. I would crop it slightly at the left, making her head less centered though. All 3 shots looks beautiful by the way!!! Enjoy your weekend!!!!

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Thanks for all you comments on my photos. Unfurtunately I dont have much possibilities of postwork yet, so only thing possible is cropping, which I will definitely consider based on your comments. And I digged out one with actually a tree in the foreground (just probably also too much centered). Thanx again for the constructive feedback. Have a nice weekend too, Ulf

Sorry Andreas, I am not :( My ex-gf, Mia, was swedish, but I never learned anything else that "I love you" in swedish. So you will have to translate that sentence for me.

Talks about whatever during sunset are ok :) so, no off-topic. I know it is a nordic name, but I think my parents just gave it to me because the liked the name, not knowing from where it comes ... a friend of them is called Ulf.

Hi Ulf! Hope you didn't mind I was playing with your image from post number 9, (which is now my favorite!) I did a little postwork to it and a few crops just playing with it, just to see how it looked... Here is the cropped image.

The mottling at the top was in the original image, guess it would need a bit more post work... *sigh* Just playing here! :)

Oh Brenda I love what u did here!!! Fabulous!! I think the cropped tree is the best!! Totally stunning! Yep!

TheSecond ( ) posted Mon, 06 June 2005 at 4:03 AM

Brenda, I dont mind it at all, it is nice if my pictures inspire some other creative heads around me, the cropped tree looks fantastic, also the lighter mood fits superbly. I just have to get myself programs for postwork!!! Soon, very soon a nice powerful machine will move into my flat and I will not get any sleep any more. :-) thanx for so much feedback on this topic. Ulf
