Subject: Making cartoon images from Poser

I have Poser 6, and am trying to make cartoon like images from 3D models with as little postwork as possible. (i.e. I want to be able to render an image that looks like it belonged in a televised cartoon, without having to ink too many lines in Photoshop). Does anyone have any ideas/techniques as to how to go about this? I like SnowSultan's Z-toon technique, but one still has to to outline the z-tooned figure with stronger lines. I'm currently experimenting with Poser's "toon shaders". Does anyone know much about them? Are there any gallery images that demonstrate effectiveuse of "tooning" techniques? Thanx!

I looked at the site, but didn't see any images after clicking on the gallery link. All I got was: Recent Public Pics - No Pics Most Viewed Pictures - No Pics Highest Rated Pictures - No Pics But AFAIK you have to do alot of postwork on any Poser cartoon render, because the lines are always bad, and the shading can be jagged and choppy-looking.

Depending on what type of toon you're looking for, I'd suggest you use some Toon Shaders and then the Toon Outline in Poser 6. I have some Toonshaders available on my site, in the textures section (free of course) Here's an example of a pic made that way. A little postwork in PSP, the raster effect is postwork, but the character itself is pure Poser6 rendering.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Harry Potter? (At least that's what the katakana lettering says.)

Yeah it's supposed to be an anime-ish Harry Potter :o)

I'm not sure about the halter top but I like the face. Even with the purple hair it looks like him, and the hair actually looks kind of cool. ;-)
