Subject: Poser 6 and Mac OSX 10.4 (tiger)

I've installed Mac OSX 10.4 and since that time Poser 6 is running like an old lady. When I like to comform clothes the program quits. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have you installed the service release? I think they just released the Mac version.

Dunno if that fixes the problem. If not, I'm sure they're working on another patch.

Poser6 is not compatable with 10.4.x. You have to install the service release. That seems to take care of the problem.

Well, that may not be exactly correct. There seems to be quite some dependency on how 10.4 was installed. I initially performed an upgrade install from 10.3.9 to 10.4 on a dual monitor G5 and P6-preSR1 and Bryce 5.5 both behaved very strangely with dialogs and windows appearing behind the main application window and virturally impossible to get to. Other people had taken different paths to 10.4 and did not see the same symptoms (CL obviously or they wouldn't have released Mac P6). Thanks to a post by surlaroute in the Mac forum, I reinstalled 10.4 using an archive/re-install/preserve users and now P6-SR1 works the way it did on 10.3.9. This really works! There are, of course, still problems with P6 that need to be ironed out, but it's not inherently incompatible with 10.4.x, just corrupted/upgrade installations of 10.4. GeoffIX
