Subject: Injection morph failures?

Naladae ( ) posted Mon, 06 June 2005 at 9:29 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 12:00 PM

I've noticed something that I think started to happen around the time I got Poser6, but that might be a bit of a red herring*. I wonder if anyone else has had it, and if there's a solution anyone has found? I add Injection morphs to V3 create a character, but once I save it to the library and load it into a new document, though the dials are there they don't do anything. Most of the time they start working again when I re-inject the morphs, but sometimes even reinjecting the morphs doesn't get them going again. The characters I'm noticing this happen on are characters created using Victoria3 SR1. They are groups of figures - normally the character complete with hair and clothing. It doesn't seem to happen with M3, though I don't use him so much so I may just not have noticed. Oddly, the character seems to look exactly the same, so the "face shaping" morphs are still in place - it's generally expression morphs that quit working and have to be reinjected. Anyone got any ideas? I can work around the problem in most cases, but it's a nuisence... * Where did that phrase come from, anyway? :P

I have a similar problem that seems to have occured after I installed SR1. When I try to inject MagicPerfect G! into Victoria, none of the morph dials for the hip show up. Oddly enough I can get the hip to morph using the included poses, so the morph did get injected. But without the dials I can't change the hip settings on my own.

Hmmm. Looks like we've run into another general bug. If it happened in Poser5 as well (I personally haven't seen that, but I can believe it) it sounds pretty fundimental. I have never really liked injection morphs myself (which is one reason why I now use a figure which has V2's head spliced onto V3's body). I wonder if it would be worth re-installing the injection morph packages? I might try that and see if it clears things up. Unfortunately, I suspect it falls between two camps in terms of official support. DAZ could easily say it's a problem with Poser6, e-frontier might say it's a problem with V3 injection morphs... but we can always hope someone from one or the other company will see this thread and come up with a solution. :)

In fact to get the dials to show up, I have to inject them in Poser 5, save the character in Poser 5, and then open the character in Poser 6, and there are the hip dials. Odd.

I have the same problem from time to time and not only on V3 or any other character, I realized it on props and hair, too. Greetings from Meike

it might be that "feature" in P6 that saves morph data separately (see the link). you might try disabling it and try again.

Although this may not help with all of the P6-problems this should help with most of it. I'll give it a try!
