Had a FireGL 3100 and was constantly having problems. Upgraded to an X800 and now I have no problems at all.

Try updating to the latest ATI driver for your card. I have a Radeon 7500C which is officially not supported for Vue 5 since e-on recommends 9x00 or better. Mine works okay; a bit slow, but never crashes even in hardware OpenGL mode.

I have Vue5Pro and ATI Radeon 9200 128mb.

It rarely crashes. I can't pin the problem down. It seems to happen when I make rapid changes to materials, positioning of objects etc...

It happened to me about half an hour ago while I was working with some metablobs.

The driver is up to date and the PC's running great.

Hmmm (edit) The previous message screen I got informed me that ATI was aware of the problem but had no solution "at this time". It's definitely open gl related. That's all I know. Save frequently! Maybe disable open gl? persevere...:)

I always found that if nothing else helped, it sometimes worked to get rid of opengl.

It's more than likely just a driver issue. You need to make sure the drivers you are using are multithreaded.
Both ATI & Nvidia "optimised" their drivers for a while with only gaming in mind - single thread. Try find some OMEGA drivers for your radeon based card & give them a go.

Good luck.

Thanks!!! :D You've literally saved me at least a couple of hundred bucks! I went online to begin searching for a good deal on graphics cards but decided to check my email first. Good thing I did because there was an ebot from rendo' with a link to your post. I never heard of Omega before so I googled it and found: http://www.omegadrivers.net/main.php I read their FAQ carefully, downloaded and installed it. Nice easy install. Great program! I then tested my card in VUE's options menu. All opengl features fully supported and functional! Before installing Omega drivers I failed this test and could only use wireframe. I really didn't want to upgrade my card. I've been holding out for a new PC instead. Thanks to you I can put the money I've saved toward my next "bigger, better, faster, more" PC, lol. Who knows how many other people you've helped?!!? Put a public wish list on your artist page so we can return the favor! ;) Big thanks! Mark "matrixmode" persevere...

No problems. I'm just glad I've made someone happy. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier.

Anyway...enjoy the speed of OGL :-)
Also..if anyone has ANY hardware OR software related Q's please don't hesitate to ask me(this is my real area of expertise).

Thanks for the tip about my wish list...I'm still learning :-)
