Yeah...they teamed up with another company for sales in Europe, so MJW now has the same price in Euro as in Dollars, plus you have to add vat to this. Over here, this means another 21% extra. Forget it!

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

So buy it from Renderosity, 3DCommune or some other reseller and have it shipped to you. I dont think anyone is to blame about VAT. That's a fact of life in Europe and you are legally obliged to pay it. best, chikako

Value added tax

Sounds like some f-ed up form of sales tax. I think I'll stay with my 7% rate of sales tax. Gonna go check out Mojo World.

Is the VAT the same in every country of Europe or does each have their own different rate? Since I don't know much about VAT and Europe is not a country I thought I'd ask. Might even learn something if I'm not careful.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

I really don't spend much time in Poser, but I will use it more in the future..Here's an image using Poser figures in MJW.. What makes this interesting..is you have access to ENTIRE PLANETS to let Poser figures roam about..

Is the VAT the same in every country of Europe No, it is different in every country. In Germany it (currently) is 16%. When they introduced it 30 or 40 years ago, it was only 11% :-(

Meshbox ( ) posted Tue, 07 June 2005 at 1:59 PM

I believe the highest is somewhere about 25%. My business, Meshbox Design (http://www.meshbox.com) is located in Oregon, one of few states not to have a sales tax (of course, we have state income tax), which is nice. My understanding of VAT is that individuals pay, but somehow companies are exempt. It seems to me if that is the case, then it pays to have an employer buy stuff, when possible. best, chikako

Companies are not exempt from paying VAT, they are however allowed to pay the difference between the amount they collect and the amount they spend.
Only companies whose turnover is a minimum amount are allowed to register to account in this way, those with less turnover than the minimum just pay it in the same way as individuals.
