I surf often on the web and some time ago I found a great photographer. He is not a member here "I asked him to post here too" but he is really busy. He is an outstanding artist, it's a real joy to look at his wild life shots I love his work

I own two of his earlier works. I love his use of colors. Even though it doesn't change very often I look at his site every day to inspire and give me ideas.

what a beautiful link.. the world of photographers l must admit is quie new too me, but draw alot of my inspiration from some of the old classical Arts ,Turner, Gainsbourough, constable,waterhouse and lowery, and so forth boring l hear you say grins.. also poets.. as mentioned on my profile..Shelley being the most inspiring for his share brillaint genuis of understanding botany, metaphysics and ablity to give nature a spirit and soul and presence also poets like coleridge wordsworth, moore ,bryon right up to pablo neruda.. anyway blah blah..mmmm l could write a whole essay on that alone, but will spare you. l find in R.R its self alot of orginal photography in modern digital form,which to me l prefer orginality of expression. about a month ago or more found this link, browsed through and found this artist in photography "Greg Summer" fine arts photographer.. to me he stood out.. attached link.. inspiration is something always in search of.. call me wierd but always searching deep in the caverns of the little grey cells.. Guess when doing photography l draw from many emotions and knowledge of the literature And art world..

I guess most of my inspiration comes from here there are several artists here that have given me great inspiration, I dont think that it would be fair to name them as it may come across as favouritism, besides I am sure that the afore mentioned know how they are. Off site I have a few, these are IMO in the Landscapers hall of fame. This a subject that I am sure many know that I could go on about all day and night. So I have selected two that have inspired me, they are both commercial photographers, *gasp* but feel that there work speaks for itself.

no one artist inspires me but i do enjoy this site especially the PS section, although the straight photos are pretty good too (after reading the terms, it's not a place i'd want to sign up) these are all fab sites listed!! great idea joe :] (simon... couldn't get the johngreenwood site :/)

There are so many and constantly changing. I will add this link though just for the adorable photographs he has of bats. I have looked at all the links and they all have wonderful examples of fine photography all of them are an inspiration along with many many others.

My first thoughts were of Jerry Uelsmann and Ansel Adams when I saw the thread title, but thinking back to college and my photo history, I thought of Henri Cartier-Bresson. The way he looked at the world through the camera lense really influenced me to push myself to capture that "moment" in unusual ways. Here is a quote by him: "For me the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity, the master of the instant which, in visual terms, questions and decides simultaneously. In order to give a meaning to the world, one has to feel involved in what one frames through the viewfinder. This attitude requires concentration, discipline of mind, sensitivity, and a sense of geometry. It is by economy of means that one arrives at simplicity of expression. To take a photograph is to hold ones breath when all faculties converge in a face of fleeing reality. It is at that moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy. To take a photograph means to recognize simultaneously and within a fraction of a second both the fact itself and the rigorous organisation of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting ones head, ones eye, and ones heart on the same axis." I was fortunate enough to see some of his prints in a traveling exhibit, and let me tell you, the web images do not do them justice. Great idea for a thread Joe, love seeing all these influences. I met Steven Vaughn at an art show about a year ago. I loved his works and when I got home I googled his name and found his site! I was in awe to see that we had visited a lot of the same locations!
