Subject: Best realistic skin - textures for V3, S3 and M3?

3DNeo ( ) posted Thu, 09 June 2005 at 8:58 PM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 9:01 AM

I could use a little feedback on selecting some high-res skins/texture packages for creating realistic figures for V3, S3 and M3. What I would like is both realistic and model perfect skin selections to choose from depending upon the type of work I'm doing. I also need them to be varied in skin tone so I can select different types (i.e. american, asian, pacific islander, etc.) Also, I'm looking for some good makeup packages for lipstick, fingers, lashes and even pubic hair. Any recommendation for pubic hair or pubic detail would be appreciated because I find very few. I've been looking at V3NaturalSkin Vol 1-4 and some others, but just not sure what to do. Would like to know what some of you out there suggest and even use yourself for renders. Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to give system specs. Windows XP SP2, 2GIG Corsair XMS Pro 2-2-2 Ultra low latency memory, 1/2 terabyte storage, AMD-FX53 processor. Poser version 5. Haven't upgraded to 6 yet, wating for all the bugs to get worked out. :)

For the most part the P6 bugs are worked out, at least to the point where imho its much better than P5. As for the best textures, I'd say Morris textures. Match them with face_off products and its a combination that's hard to beat! If you use any other texture my advice would be to use any of face_off's line of products to make it render the best it can be. -jay

Try the International Beauties at Daz. I think they were made by Morris. It will give you 5 different Flavors. That would work for V3,S3,A3,L3 and Girl V3UV.

Catherina has some great M2 textures (Angelo and Marius) available at her site (mec4d). Use the UTC available at Daz to convert them to M3. Her Nikita texture for V3 is magnificent. Quim2001 has some excellent M3/David textures for sale here in the MP. His textures for M2 also convert beautifully to M3 using the UTC.

The two names that immediately pop to mind for doing excellent textures are Cin- and Eowyn. Cin- has a lot of excellent and cheap textures in the PoserPros store ($2.49 sets). I've only bought a few things with Eowyn's name on it (the merchant seems to work in collaborations with others a lot), because they tend to be more expensive and I generally don't need an exacting level of realism. But the ones I have are excellent, and there are many more great ones that I have been close to buying, despite not needing the level of detail. I think both Eowyn and Cin- sell stuff here at Renderosity. Cin-'s cheap but excellent sets are at PoserPros.

Oh, and I should add that Cin- in particular does great makeup sets for textures too. For pubic hair, you might consider getting a PSP brush for hair from a merchant resourse package and making your own transmaps, if you want wide variety. I haven't seen too much variety out there, and I've considered making my own transmaps. There are pubic hair props available that allow customization, but the ones I've used aren't going to give you close-up realism.
