Subject: Spandex?

What does the term spandex mean. Like hip spandex What does it do? It doesn't seem to do anything. I see this term in the parameters.

Spandex is a stretch fabric, beloved of dancers in the 1980's (think "Fame") and horrible Hair Metal bands like Twisted Sister. The Spandex morphs act like a sort of morphed in catsuit and will remove certain body details such as nipples, buttock creases and navels. A quick and dirty Superhero suit solution.

IMO, the only legitimate use of Spandex is superhero costumes. If you can't see thru walls or fly then you got no business wearing spandex...
