Okay, maybe I've just missed something simple and obvious, I hope so, cause the scrolling is driving me crazy. I'm pretty well organised, have several runtimes, several levels of sub folders, all that good stuff, but inevitable I end up with folders that are full enough that once you scroll down you've lost the little top folder that takes you back up to the next library level - and so I have to scroll all the way back up to hit that folder to get back to the next level. Isn't there anything that can be don Like the Poser equivalent of a back button? It really drives me crazy. Second thing, this may just be a mouse driver problem but before I go changing things, thought I'd ask - I have a side button formatted to double click. But I've never gotten it to work inside of Poser - I have to do the old was, actually two clicks on the left button. Lol, don't I sound lazy? But it's just that you getused to doing something one way and now it's like I'm having to remember to click twice - so, is it like that for everyone, or do i need to upgrade my mouse drivers? (Double click button does work with everything else, it's just in Poser that it stops working.) Not really comlaining, just checking to see if I've missed something.

Might be your drivers, I have a side button set up for double-click and it works in P6. As much as I love Poser (and I do), I loathe almost everything about the interface. I'm sure it's just peachy for someone who has two figures, three outfits and only plays with Poser once a month, but if you use it more than that it's as though every single feature of the pretty interface is a frustrating obstacle in your workflow. I was really hoping that P6 would be a big improvement on P4 in the interface department but in some ways it's worse, navigating around the runtime is a good example. Hmmm... I'd better stop now before I enter full rant mode (and before someone gives me the "well what do you expect at this price" speech) ;o) Ob

hi judee, This library problem of having to scroll for 10 minutes to get to the top is pretty annoying. As you probably know, in DS you can just press 'home/end' to go up down or type a letter to access that group of files. Unfortunately, poser can't do that and the only way is manually. I don't know if it's just my computer, but for me scrolling is deadly slow. It only moves a few centimeters with each turn of the mouse wheel. The thing I really appreciate about P6 is that double-clicking no longer brings up that stupid message about changing figure. Unfortunately, I'm so used to double-clicking in DS and P6, that whenever I open P4, I forget and get the blasted message again. obm, I know how you feel. Workflow has never been poser's strong point. Oh, but I forgot.... it's really cheap! LOL. mac

Ha, mac, I get so tired of scrolling that even if it is fast I can't tell couse it seems to go on forever! It seems slow on mine too, but it's not really too bad yet - is your runtime over full? That can slow down the library files, I've heard. obm, thanks for the mouse info - I upgraded drivers not very long ago, but will try again, maybe that will do the trick. Do you ever wonder if the people who design the interface have ever actually used Poser? ;D

No, my Runtime is practically empty, and I like to keep it that way. I don't use linked Runtimes though, mainly because when I'm working on a product, I always start in P4, then make the final saves in P6 (then edit the files). Using linked Runtimes messes up my file paths. One really irritating habit I've discovered is that P6 has hijacked the other 2 posers, 4 and 5. After I open a pz3 in P6, when I go to P4, it returns to the folder that P6 last used. I have my 3 posers on different drives, so it's a bit of a pain. I can't find anything in the registry to stop this. If anyone knows where these prefs are stored, I'd love to know. mac

Yeah the scroll thing is a pain in the butt. I also hate that for example I get to specific file I want to open. I click on it and then I see the various choices to choose from. Like the full body morphs. Then lets say I change my mind. What happens? Your sent straight back to the top of the list rather than where yo7u left off. Its true Poser's interface is complete crap. And yet for some unknown ridiculous reason I like it. I guess because of the easy access to figures. Its light tool set is crap too. Its ways to zoom in out of views is also crappy. I just don't understand why these issues have been the same since the first release and still they choose to keep them. If it wee me I'd complete get rid of the Figures/poses/lights etc menu on the right. Just toss it out. There is no need for it

'I just don't understand why these issues have been the same since the first release and still they choose to keep them' I've been using poser for 8 years, and I've come across a lot of poser mysteries, but without a doubt, that's the biggest mystery of them all. mac
