I'm bored and fancied trying something new......does anyone know of any tutorials that will teach me (or hopefully teach me) how to do realistic faces such as these amazing images by FS http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Y&Artist=FS I've only started poser in January 2005 and am eager to learn as much as I can. And Im bored on a sunday afternoon lol. Im using p6 thanks

Wow, I am stunned! I can only hope to someday get to that point. In the meantime, the approach I have taken is to use the Mat and Face Rooms. The Face room is a great tool when you get the hang of it. The Mat room is a bit more daunting, but worth the trouble to learn the Advanced options. The attached tut, though I cannot remember where I originally found the link to it (hope face_off doesn't hate me for linking,) is great. Though I would suggest getting the Realism kits developed by said author, this tut is where I began my trip into realism. It won't come out like FS' but you will get some really nice results.

Hmmm. He or she has a "step by step" posted for one of the images. If I am reading the very tiny screenshots correctly, the render wasn't even done with Firefly. It's done with the P4 renderer.

However, there seem to be some creative things done in the Material Room. Looks like the bump maps are connected to gradient (common, but generally considered wrong, though it seems to work in this case). More curiously, it looks like the skin texture map is connected to the reflection or refraction node.

Yes, randy, Ive tried it in a recent render, but without the exact settings ... is very difficult
