Wabe suggested this great idea a while back, but I never found the time to start it until now. So here it is.... same ideas as 'a face on a name' (link in the header of the forum) but this time, post a picture of where you live (or close enough to make us travel :) ). I will make a permanent link to this discussion in the header of the forum. Until I go home and post a picture of where I actually live, here is a shot I took from Time Square two years ago. I live just an hour away from there, so that is close enough :) Try to keep it to one of two pictures per person, and keep the pictures small enough to fit in the page. Thanks.

Here it is, the city of Grosseto in the Tuscanian countryside, 180 km north of Rome. An aerial view of the city and the palace of the Provincial Government.

Nice idea, but I live in a really horrible place. Come to think of it, my face isn't too great either, think I'll avoid threads like this in the future.

The villiage of Mill Valley, just north across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. Featuring the park-like Mount Tamalpais. Very nice ratio of trees-to-people (more trees), yet close to a nice city.

Good idea! :o)

I live next to Torne river (Tornev) on the border Sweden-Finland.
This is what it looks like next to my house. On the other side of the river you see Finland.

Images taken 2 weeks ago.

Excellent idea - and excellent images so far. I find it very interesting to see. We live close to Stuttgart, South of Germany. We are on the border to the Black Forest, some count our part already to, i wouldn't. Black Forest is much darker. But in 15 minutes i can be deep into! To the left you see the view from our living room, to the right the office building i am working in. Office because that is where it all happens, Vue is only installed there, not at home!

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

This is a great idea! Hope to see more pictures! I live in Grenoble, which lies in the French Alps, where the rivers "Drac" (on the left on the picture) and "Isere" (On the right) flow together. The building that looks like a ring (just before the two rivers join) is my working place.

Hi ! I'm not sure myself, where I live ;-) Top left is my house 1 hr north of Montpellier (about three weeks a year). Bottom right is my office, 1 hr west of Lyons (four or five weeks). The "rest" of the year live in a trailor on worksites, linked to the internet via handy phone. Sometimes in a backyard, but mostly in really nice places :-)

Nice idea! So, here's another one from the rim of the Black Forest south of Stuttgart in Southern Germany. This is close to my place. Not far from the Swabian Alb as well.
