Just my opinion: That Vicky 3 face looks incredibly unrealistic (i.e. facial proportions all disproportionate) compared to the Apollo face ...

FlyByNight ( ) posted Sat, 18 June 2005 at 12:25 AM

Thank you, pokeydots! I can tell he'll be a much better fit than M3. M3 always appeared smaller when in a scene with V3.

Well I also pulled back because of the price...I have M2,M3,David,Freak and Milboys...Plus alot of other free poser guys....So I felt no need to get this one for that price...I'll wait for the Christmas Sale...LOL...

ziggie ( ) posted Sat, 18 June 2005 at 11:37 AM

Apollo certainly looks amazing and I guess one day he will overtake M3. As much as I would like to buy him... I also find him too expensive. I agree he might work out cheaper than M3 without all the morph add ons, etc., but having spent so much on M3 and all his accessories (not to mention all the other figures I have bought)... Apollo won't be joing my collection until his price drops... which is unlikely, or... until I win the lottery... even more unlikely..!

SnowSultan ( ) posted Sat, 18 June 2005 at 12:00 PM

I think the sale price is reasonable, considering what you get (morphs, bodysuit, beard, texture), but I was a bit surprised when I saw the regular price of $99. This is definitely one of those times when you either buy now or wait a loooong while. I definitely hope he gets good third-party support though, that's the life blood of any figure. Thanks, take care. SnowS

AmbientShade ( ) posted Sat, 18 June 2005 at 1:42 PM

are apollo's shoulders more realistic than the mil figures elbow macaroni bends? The v3 vs. apollo render above is not very fair, considering it comes down to texture quality, not model quality - in that particular image i mean - and says very little about the actual figure. both mike and vicki have textures that are just as realistic as the one on apollo. from what i've seen elsewhere apollo does seem like he'd be a good figure, except that the facial morph examples so far have not been very impressive, and his hands look too small. maybe its the finger length/width. the $49 tag is not bad considering everything you get in the package, but since i just found out about him yesterday, i'll wait around a while until i've seen more quality examples. and if there's enough demand for him, then i'm sure this isn't the only time he'll be on sale. E.D.

Has anyone done any renders where he has actual tone in his musculature? I'd love to have another male figure but at the price and the general 'puffiness' of his muscles I'm a tad wary of spending that much (and it's not comparable to M3 or D3 as I got those for nothing :) ).

Xena, Just in case the name "Apollo Maximus Base" gave the wrong impression... The BodySuit SkinSuit Basics(subsets like the V3 unitard, bodyshirt) HI RES testures, all Morphs Beard/hair Poses etc are all included in the month long $49.95. Non of those thingsare sold seperately. It's all included as well as the adnaced P6 skin materials. I didn't do anythingllike "Barbarian". Everyone like a different look in their renders. The shape is up to the user. With all the original/reversible morphs you'de be very happy I am sure. Hope that helps!! Regards, Anton

Glad I can bring a smile to someone's face ;P I'm such a tight-arse these days Anton ;) I hardly ever buy clothing for any figures and can't remember the last time I bought an actual figure LOL I should learn to read the whole description though before I say 'that much' shouldn't I!?! I found the morph and phoneme lists (CP really should make their links a different colour rolls eyes), oh and the full content list and now I'm convinced :D S'pose I better go pay for him so I can d/l and start making him some clothing :D Figure if I can't get enough 'tone' out of the pre-existing morphs I can always make them myself.

byAnton ( ) posted Sat, 18 June 2005 at 7:44 PM

Oh yeah. The cr2 can be distributed with your own morphs free/sale. Do whatever you want. He is really all shaping morphs. But if pepel want to replace/add their own.. Go for it. I don't mind. It's all in the Read-me. You can use the morphs in your own or not. Up to you. But using the bae morphs is allowed. Anyway catch ya later.

I'm a Daz broker so we often get the new characters before their release in exchange for giving Daz first right of acceptance/refusal of anything we make for that character for the first month after he/her release.

There is a morph "SizeNeck" all the morphs are alphabetical. Also, Traps morph 1,2,& 3 will affect the size of the neck. In reverse the make it skinnier too. MvShldrsX(move SHoulders along x) will narrow his upper frame including the neck. Positive values narrow..negative widen. Try the grotch Lossen Morph on the SKinSuit. Pic looks great! Hope That helps!!!!!!!!
