No, I don't think it's just you. I've downloaded a few .lwo's in the past with no troubles, but I've found a few recently which I guess were made in LW 6 or 6.5, and Vue will not import them, although there's no problem if I convert them to 3DS. shrug I'm guessing that Newtek must have changed something about their file format since then, and also since Vue 3's release, although that doesn't seem consistent with the fact that 3D Exploration doesn't have a problem with them. It's a shame too, because I love those tiny file sizes that LW has.

If I remember correctly, Steve from E-on did mentioned that LW 6 onward format is not supported by Vue3 at that time. Not sure if its Vue 3.1 you are referring too. But anyhow, I have some files problem with Vue 3.1 importing LW 5.6 .lwo format....weird..Vue is funny...LOL! Like Mike, I use a converter to convert it to .3ds or obj (most reliable). Bill

Hello, Thanks All. Well, I usually do use the .obj format for importing into Vue 3.1 but I recently got Lightwave 6.5 and the Proser Pro Pack and have been playing with these when I noticed the format problem with Vue. Not a biggie. Later...

Hdrider...since you got PPP, may be you can tell me building bones with an obj in it is "easy with no sweat, not so much sweat or plenty of swear" :) I asked the same question at Poser list group but no one answered me...must be plenty of sweat huh? I believe that the bones has to be properly group after laying them out and fine tune with the joint editor. Is it very difficult to make it posable without tearing all the grouping up when you start to 'pose' the individual group....just curious before I buy it. Bill

Bill, I really haven't got into the setup to much yet. From what I can tell, it is fairly easy. One thing I've found is that in the setup window, you can import the bones of another figure to use as a template if you want to. You still have to group em to the geometry though. So many toys...so little time. Later...

Thanks and I also understand that the bones are very different from that of LW bones. LW bones are store in a LW scene files as a scene file data but not attach to the lwo obj and cannot be use for PPP bones import capability. This mean that any LW models able to be animated with bones created for them in scene file is usless with regards to have the model 'pose' with PPP as it cannot be imported. Anyway, no rush, if you have any finding and news about this, please let us know. Bonning is quite a task in LW 5.6 which I have. Bill
