Subject: question on transparencies for postwork products

I am planning a new postwork product for the marketplace and I have a general question on retaining transparencies. What do you all prefer for keeping the transparent background intact in a product? My first two thoughts are PSD format or PNG (which is what it's in now) Opinions? I could include both in the package I suppose.

The advantage of .png is that the alpha channel is automatically transparent. I guess it depends on what sort of effect you are trying to acheive.

I'm really looking for general usability. They are wings to be used in postwork. not brushes, actual images.

I usually render to .png - I find it easier to use it that way. Probably because of transparent background set automatically :P
