WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! WOW, THAT IS ONE COOL LOOKING SHOT!!! Incredible even, thanks for that link!
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Nice shot - I have pics taken there of sun rise but they are all on film and I don't have a scanner :(

Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

We have a chance to get something similar at moonrise tonight. I hope the weather cooperates here.

Yup, correct indeed, I was waiting up for it last night to get some pics but it was so incredibly low that,, well I could hardly see it. This is the largest the moon has appeared for 19 years. Mainly due to the timing and proximity to the earth but also because it is so low, the optical effect with the earth’s atmosphere makes it appear slightly larger. The full moon of June occurs closest to the summer solstice when the suns passes highest above us and the moon passes lowest across the sky. A haze on a typical June evening is partly responsible for the honey colour (thicker layers of air for the sunlight to pass/refract through) and it being called the Honeymoon (see the honey colour on twopynts linked photo). Some say that this is where the term honeymoon comes from, as most weddings are traditionally held in June. Hope that’s not too scatty an explanation. Ahh well, maybe I will make more of an effort next time ……

Sigh -- yes, more thunderstorms last night so didn't get the shot. Watched and episode from Season 1 24 and set up my wife's new monitor instead. ;] Thanks for sharing yours Richard, how did you hold it so steady? (wink)

Thanks Pascalou. :) Sorry to hear you are rained in too. :[ It is nice right now, but as Erlik pointed out, the full moon is passed.

Yes, we shall both gaze upon the glowing orb and think thoughts of far off lands... ;] BTW, adding "chen" or "sien" ((not sure which)) to the end of a person's name is a German form of enderment, like "alouche" in French. :)

Wow my moon looks very nice in its new setting :) I would have included some land, but I had fallen asleep and when I woke the moon was too high. But then again the land that would have been under it was an oil refinery so I am sure it is much happier in this setting. Camera resting on the window sill ;)

Ah, thanks for the tip Rich. And Pascalouche, I love it...definately YOUR thing! :)

I hardly ever am holding the camera when I shoot Kort - I have usually put it down somewhere and fire it with remote.
