Subject: Stormtrooper Figures / Props etc

Hey there, trying to do some scenes with stormtroopers from star wars. I have hoagland set for mike 2, but was wondering if anyone knew of any other props/meshes/figures out there. I seem to remember, back in the early P4 days, a p4 man based mesh of a stormtrooper. Any ideas or tips would help. Thanks!

hmm..if it's rayguns and light sabers..check for someone called Dodger, _Dodger, or ____Dodger..;) He's not here anymoer, but he may still have a website out there..do a search on Dodger and Poser. For ships, buildings, etc., this is the place (above)

Here is an awesome Star Wars model site. There are all kinds of things here. I got Dodger's lightsabres, and I am pretty sure there are Stormtroopers too.

Probably xanost's Stormtrooper, although that one is built around the P3 Male. You can find it in the character section at Fantasy 3D. Much like the Stormtrooper at Vanishing Point, its armour consists entirely of props.

Sorry, the first link I posted wasn't the best way to find the stuff. This one takes you to the Show All section of the site. Go to the pages from around 23 and up (at the bottom of the page.) There are around 6 or 7 lightsaber packages. Throughout the pages there are quite a bit of Star Wars goodies, including Stormtroopers, Ships, Blasters, etc. Very quality stuff. If I'm not mistaken most of it was made by Dodger.

Not to knock any sites, but...

http://www.theforce.net
These models are NOT in Poser format, which means they may have to be scaled to the proper size... or they may not work at all. Some models may be in a newer 3ds format which Poser can't read or some models (such as the Millennium Falcon or General Grevious) may be too large to load into Poser. (One of the Falcon models has over 450,000 polygons, which brings Poser 6 to a dead stop.)

Read their agreement before proceeding to their download section. As of June 2005, they require you to be a member (which is perfectly fine), but they also require that you post at least 5 messages in their forums before you are allowed to download any of their free items.
And, yes, their freebies are made for Poser, but they are approximately Poser 3 quality... on the other hand, they are the only ones with Poser versions of Darth Vader, Jar-Jar Binks, Yoda, and other characters.

We at Vanishing Point pride ourselves on making accurate Poser versions of the Star Wars vehicles that have fully moving parts as well as being to the scale of the Poser people... well, to a point. The Star Destroyers and Death Star are not to scale. ;)
We have the complete collection of Dodger's lightsabers (up to Episode I) and we are the ONLY site to have Poser versions of the X-Wing, B-Wing, AT-AT, AT-ST, and more.

There are a lot of good free 3ds objects available from the star wars modelling alliance. Most of them are small enough to import into poser and most of them are the older and better to import version of the 3ds file format. They have quite a few objects that are not available anywhere else.

Don't forget Sixus1 - there are Poser figures for Yoda and Jabba the Hutt at his freebies site.
