160 for the UK - $149 for the USA Talk about a great divide. An explanation is in order from Curious Labs don,t you think!!!!!

Ogre never buy from the UK if you can help it the import tax and VAT screws you its not CL's fault just our damn goverment....will CL or Zygote not ship international?.......Steve

Same thing in Germany - no special prices for stupid Germans or other Europeans... that's almost business as usual - but there's one difference: egi.sys, the "parents" of Curiuoslabs are German: egi.sys AG, Hagellocher Weg 63, D-72070 Tingen

like I said and import duty I don't know the figure but I got charged 25 on the poser hand book and it only cost about 35 damn UPS sticking charges on instead of customs :o(........Steve

welcome to International commerce An extra $80 (55 quid) to buy in UK. (I'd hope delivry is in the price) But I reckon the $80 saving of buying direct from US will easily be eaten up in shipping charges and duty and VAT (which by the way should only be on the media not the program from what i can understand from the Customs and Excise site, but try arguing that one or getting only the cost of media put on the declaration form). At least Curious seems willing to deal with you from the States, I've come across at least one company that insists you use its local distributor even for electronic downloads and license purchase. My favorite way of buying is electronic download direct from company. Like DAZ (not a brand of soap powder ;-) or the Renderosity store. No fuss, no muss, no tax and shipping -- effectivly just buying a license. If you have bandwidth you can even get heavywieghts like Dreamweaver direct and instantly from source at US prices. Until someone figures out how to tax it all of course. On a slightly seperate note. I notice Curious is slightly lax in its Euro conversion. While euro 250 seems to be the price throughout the zone. Irish customers can save slightly by paying in euros (IR200 = 253.95 euros) and French save by paying in francs (FF1600 = 243.92 euros). I don't think this type of dual pricing is allowed, I suspect it has to be an exact conversion using the fixed rates. Nor , I think, can they claim these prices as illustrative and charge in dollars as they're working out of Ireland for the European end of the buisness. Hey you pays your money and takes your choice.

UK customers can get the Pro Pack from Dabs (see link), they are cheeper than Curious Labs, and no possible customs charges.

Here's the prices for Sweden: Subtotal: USD $ 250.00 Estimated Tax/VAT: USD $ 62.50 Total incl. Tax/VAT: USD $ 312.50 The basic price is $100 more than the price for US/Canadian citisens, and the total price with Tax/VAT added is more than twice as high. I will NOT buy the Poser Pro Pack. Sad but true... /Ohman

never seen pricing in Italy..... 490.000 in lire a US 1$ is now 2000 lire make yours calculations sigh
