Hi I would like to know if there is any way i can simulate a light emiting object like a fluorescent tube, or a light bulb. Thanks

I would think you just crank up the 'ambient' colour value.

If you have Poser 6 you can take advantage of some of the new capabilities. One which can be used in conjunction with the Ambient Color is the Gather node. Search the forum for Bioluminescence for more info.

Also with Poser 6 you can create a point light and put that within your light bulb so it will light up objects just like as if it were a light bulb. For a florescent tube just put several point lights along its length.

Im using P5 :S Another good reason to start using P6 I`m going to check the "gather node" Thanks

The gather node is also only in Poser 6.

I was looking the bioluminescence, and is amazing. Yesterday i tried using "ambient" but it sucks. And i think that using a lot of lights to simulate radiosity is not an option :S I think is time to save for poser 6 :D

I tried to make a render with a lantern once. I had a hell of a time getting the "GLOW" lighting right and the comments I got were helpfull. One was to create an object (simple sphere) make it invisible with the transparnet settings in the MAT room and parent a bunch of lights to it radiating outwards. I havent tried it yet, but it sounds good.
