hello all, i have a couple local business interested in using my photos for their websites and i want to make sure my images aren't stolen or printed without my permission. i don't want to ruin the images by putting my name on them either. i'm a little cautious because one of the sites wants 300dpi 4mb files, to me that seems fishy especailly if their intent is just to use them for a website gallery of their eatery. any suggestions on how i can protect my photos? cheap is good, free is even better...lol! thank you in advance for your time and assistance!!! Make up a contract and have em sign it. If they use them for any other purpose than specified in the contract take legal steps.

Contract is the way to go. Specify just for use on their company website. I'd ask why they want the images so large too. I'm guessing maybe they want to use some as backgrounds or parts of the images for textures or subtle accents.

Yes often they ask so they get the max quality, but I would get something in writing too

Any of the image watermarks things I have seen are pretty useles btw unless anybody knows something different?

one last question, probably a dumb one... how do you make the copyright symbol? if it's on my keyborad, they did a damn good job at hiding it... told you it was a dumb question..heh heh!!! thanks again!!! Eric

Copy and paste it from windows character map is probably the easiest way, if you are using a windows based pc :)

keep the left ALT key pressed and then use the numeric pad to type: 0169 then release the ALT key that gives you: ©
