I just started using Poser 4 and Bryce 4. I just started to create a scene with a poser figure in it. However I dont like the way the figure turned out. Before I started using Poser I saw a tutorial on how to make your characters look more realistic, looks to plastic. Does anyone know of a good tutorial where I can touch it up. By the way I am also using Paint Shop pro 7

Message232012.JPG Hoping this works. I'm html- impaired. First, use your PSP to convert to jpg files for uploading and usable file sizes....20KB vs 1.4 MB. Second, what makes the poser folk look realistic-background -compatible is texture, texture, texture...transparencies and bumps and patterns. Third, try exporting the figure group as an object and then importing into Bryce for rendering. Fourth, and probably most important, is the tutorial section at this site and the tutorial sections of all those talented folks in the Ring. eng

Camera and lighting mean alot, I think... Angles, and all that. This pic is so raw, I could cut myself on it...needs so much in the way of texture and transparency. Still,...the lighting and camera make it look a bit real..I think.

Although camera angles and lighting do a lot for an image, I think I would emphasize textures and transparencies as making the biggest difference for realism. But (at least in this context) it's always better to show than tell. So I would suggest going to the webring links on the right side of the page, probably the "next 15 entries" link. Check out sites like PoserFactory, Digital Babes, and RENDERoCITY. The stuff (at least at the first 2 I listed) is free to download, use (non-commercially), and study. I believe Kozaburo has a tutorial on transmapping hair at one of the first 2 sites also. The regular P4 nude fem (Posette) doesn't seem to have as many photorealistic textures as Vicky, but there is a Vickybuster texture in the FreeStuff section at this site that might inspire you. Rendering in Bryce might also help; I am no expert in that regard, but I have seen forum threads and tutorials on that topic galore.
