does anyone know of a good brush cut or head stubble kind of hair for M3, or another character if it can be made to fit M3? thanks for any suggestions, and Happy 4th to all!!! ;D

Try the Mihai hair over at DAZ, that's kind of "brush" like! thefixer, poser coord.

thefixer.......I already have Mihai hair, but it's not quite short enough on top for what I want...thanks for trying though...it's hard to find a very short brush cut/head stubble kind of hair I'm looking for...you know, the kind where you use the #1 attachment on the clippers ;P lol

maybe someone knows of one that's part of a body texture with a character instead of just the hair? I wouldn't mind buying a reasonably priced character to get the head stubble ;)~

Have you taken a look at what is already in your hair menu in Poser? In P5, one of the dynamic hair styles that comes with Poser is pretty short. If you have Photoshop, you could probably paint the stubble on a texture yourself. There are some fairly cheap Brush packages that you can buy for Photoshop that you can get to paint on the hair pretty easily. I'm sure there is the equivalent available for PaintShop Pro as well, if that's what you happen to have.

If you have P5 or 6 you could also cook up a displacement map to make the stubble look slightly raised.

Maybe the Morphing Flat Top hair at DAZ?

bjbrown...I just looked and I thought the GIJoe hair stubble might be it, but when I put it on the character and rendered, it still didn't give me the look I'm going for...I think what I'm looking for it that 5 o'clock shadow kind of hair...just barely there, to match the 5 o'clock shadow I have on his face... SamTherapy...I may have to try that...and yes, I have Poser 5...also, I have Photoshop CS... I thought maybe someone might have a character out there with this kind of texture already on it, since I'm still pretty new at Poser and haven't really done anything like making a body texture and/or displacement map before...thanks guys for your help...

I did think of one other possible alternative. You might be able to use the hair room to grow a bit of stubble. I don't use the Hair Room, because styling hair is hard and I'm lazy. On the other hand, stubbly hair doesn't require styling. For a true 5 o'clock shadow look- which doesn't really look like stubble but more like a smear (I get stubble, Bruce Willis gets shadow)- what you may want to do is just paint it (or shade it in the Material room) onto a skull cap, and make the edges transparent and the hair partially transparent. And then add just a subtle displacement as SamTherapy suggested.

thanks for all the wonderful ideas! I will try the hair room next on a skullcap with a bit of displacement...I have a ton of hair, including all the ones mentioned above plus a zillion others, they're just not what I need...dang, aren't I just a picky so-and-so...hehe...thanks again everyone!

THAT'S IT mathman!!!!!! that's exactly the style I was looking for, I'm sure I can fit it to M3...and I am absolutely blown away that it even has the tiny scar just above the forehead in the hair, just like my son...how weird...thankyou SOOOOOO much... :D

Cool, blonderella, glad you found the right one.

At the Maya site, there's a short cut man's hair style for free. A little dial work, and it would fit.
