That's what Spectacular does. The closer to white you get on Spectacular, the more shine you get on the skin. Usually one chooses along the black-gray-white spectrum for spectacular, but for your particular effect you might want to play a bit with colors (which has the effect of making a colored glare rather than white glare). The other setting to play with to get your effect is highlight size, which determines how big the glare gets. If you have any MAT files for characters with glossy lips, you might also try applying one to a character, then checking the material room to see what settings were used. That could get you close to what you want.
I'm open to suggestions...the method I used with P5 was material room-based but anything that would work is ok with me. In the past, I used the free lilflame zipper catsuit. It was a bump map and color reflect nodes. Somehow, after I applied it and then reapplied the character's skin texture, the bump map (or something) stayed there and looked just like a clear catsuit on top of the skin. It had enough depth to give the illusion of being a layer of latex. Apparently it was an exploit with P5 since P6 won't fall for it. :(

Seems like the transparent gloss effect might be the use of reflection maps as well as something with the specular light in the skin materials settings? This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I want to apply a glossy layer on top of a skin texture, so as to give the appearance of a layer of clear material (latex) over the texture. I have done this in the past by applying a material room catsuit (not a figure, just settings) and then applying reapplying the texture. The gloss layer would stay and you could see the skin through it. Now with P6, it doesn't work. Any ideas?
