You are all probably sick of seeing these things, but I wanted to share my very first attempt at photographing fireworks. I think they turned out okay, but not dazzling. Maybe I've just been looking at them too long. :) What do you guys think?

And the last one. :) I want to put one in my gallery, but I don't know which one. These are the best out of 70, but there are some others that are just as good. *sigh* Decisions......

Nicely done! Your first attempt is much better than mine. It took me a few times to get anything decent.

Fantastic shots and I would say that if this is your first time shooting fireworks then you might have a career going there...

I can't wait to get mine back from the processing center. I did everything manually: focus(doesn't change anyway), zoom, aperture, and shutter. I ran out before the finale but some of the slides(Professional Fuji 100) should be quite full of fireworks. I sat on top of the car with my girlfriend holding the remote so I expect some of the fireworks to be cut off, but hopefully I will get some good shots.

TobinLam, I look forward to the pics.

They'll be expensive. They're actually cheaper to process than regular film but I don't have a slide scanner so it'll be a few dollars more. I really wish I had a DSLR, especially the Rebel XT. It's basically my Rebel T2 turned digital. One complaint I heard here is getting the firework as it explodes but all you have to do is listen for the launch and give it a couple seconds to get high and open the shutter. So what if you open early, the sky is dark.

I think you did really well. Fireworks are hard to capture. This was the best I could do and well, its not very good!

An update on my slides: The only place that doesn't go "Huh?" when I mention slides has a contract with a place in Florida, several states away from home, so I will be lucky to get them in a week.
