Just, make sure you have the correct figure selected for the mat and double click the Mat you want to appley. The results may not show up untill you do a render. The folowing link tut, one of mine, shows the basics. RichardMAT pose usually show up in your pose folder. It should be as easy as selecting your figure, whether that is V3 or a clothing item and then applying the MAT pose from your library pallette. No need to go into the material room to apply a MAT pose. thefixer, poser coord.

Very often merchants and or MAT pose creaters configure the initial setup just as it is on thier computer. Which means that if your system has any sort of difference in the path statement, then the MAT pose files wont be found. Poser has a catch for that and "Should" pop up a dialog box asking you to find the texture file, but more often than not it doesn't load it. One way to verify that everything is the way it should be, is to open the PZ2 file ("Should" be in the associated runtimelibrariespose folder. Any text editor can be used for this, I use Wordpad as it will open larger files than notepad. You are looking for a line that is similar to this one: textureMap "D:Poser 5RuntimetexturesDAZVictoria 3CharactersYumaYumaBody.jpg" Occasionally you will see all of the backslashes replaced with colons. This is okay, it still works. Next step is to actually go to the folder to see if the texture actually exsists where it says it does. If it is not there, you have your problem. If it IS there, then I would try to apply the texture manually, it could be a problem with the way the MAT file is being read. Hope that helps.
Oh, I should mention that the final path statement you are looking for, will be present for ALL body parts. So if you find it for say "torso", then it shold be the same for all parts of the body (Neck, Shoulders, Arms, Forearms, and Etcetera.) In otherwords, that line will be in there quite a few times.
Actually, Vially is wrong. Any MAT file with a full path is rejected during store testing. All MAT files are to be configured with :Runtime:textures:etc . This may happen in freestuff, but not store items. For starters, what MAT files are you trying to use? You can only use files designed to be used on Victoria - such as second skins and skin textures. MAT files that load clothing textures are designed to be used on specific clothing. You also have Victoria 1/2 and Victoria 3, each with different mapping so that second skins and textures designed for V1/2 cannot be used on V3. For a beginners quickie guide: Load Victoria (3 in this example) and make sure a body part is selected. Go to the Pose folder and browse to where the mat was installed. Click on the MAT you wish to apply, then click the tick at the bottom of the menu. That's it. Your mat should now be applied.
Actually I was referring more towards Daz, Poser Pros, 3dCommune, etc. Buy from one of those stores then find me full texture paths ;P There is no way a Daz product has full texture paths, and you'd think I'd know as I broker with them so know what 'I' have to go through to make my products meet their standards, anda BIG no-no is full texture paths.
Please note that I refered to BOTH methods... A full path AND the ":Runtime:textures:etc" method. The intent was to show Korn what they are looking for within the file. Not to dictate which format they might find. I have seen combinations of the two (file didn't work, but hey, who thought it would.) I have purchased items from this site that: 1. Do not include all the textures. 2. Have incorrect Path statements. 3. Do not include the object file. 4. Advertise as a stand alone product, yet are simply a texture for someone else's stand along product. (thereby negating the usability of thier product since I do not have the first.) 5. Simply do not load, with no explanation at all. (everything is there, they just do not load.) I should note that in all of the above cases, patches were provided, and missing files were made available (except in the case were I didn't own the original file.) So customer service is good.) Anyway, this is sounding a lot more defensive than intended, so I'll stop there. Korn I hope you got the information you were/are looking for, and that it helped.
OH! I just re-read the original post. As a side note... Korn if these are POSES for Victoria, they may have parameters that are required by the Victoria Injection morphs, either Body, or Face. If you do not have the Morph injection packs loaded, then some DAZ POSE files wont load correctly, or at all.

Hello again! Ive become quite the DAZ junkie as of late and Ive acquired a few MAT poses for V3. From what I understand, they alter the figures material settings? Anyway, I cant seem to get them to work. In the Pose Room I hit the Apply Library Preset button, but Vikki remains unchanged. Is there something I should be doing in the Materials Room? Can someone please explain how this works? All of the tutorials Ive seen cater towards creating MAT poses, not actually using them. Thanks guys!
