Subject: "The file being read is not a valid Poser file"...

What kind of message is that for poses made for M3?

"It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi

A bad one. G Is this on a freebie set?

To make a few guesses- it could mean that the file is in an incompatible version, it could mean that the file is corrupted, or it could mean that the file is missing some statement or variable that Poser expects it to have (possibly as simple as a missing quotation mark somewhere or something like that).

Does Poser do what the pose is supposed to do? For example, does Poser apply the MAT pose or the INJ pose even though this "error" occurs? If so, there is probably a misplaced { or } in the pose file. If Poser gives the "error" message and does not apply the pose, then there's something wrong with the file itself. Contact the maker of the pose and see if there is a fix. --John

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I think it is a freebie one. Unfortunately I can't remember where I got it. I have 2 folders for poses, and the one with that pose in it is months and months old, and unfortunately I lumped a bunch of poses into one folder thinking it would be easier in the long run. Turns out it's a huge hassle. So I started another folder for poses that is more organized. I'll get around to redoing that other folder eventually. In the meantime I found an alternate pose that I like...and that works, hehe

Online Now!

I had the same problem about a week ago. It was because the file got corrupted - looked fine, but Poser somehow couldn't handle it.
