I completely understand the sorrow. And you're free to express that, but political arguments lead to flaming members, slandering names, and that's not something anyone needs right now. Those with political minds are free to create a weblog somewhere (livejournal, blogger, xanga) to express their political views. This is here to offer condolences to the families and victims of this horrible situation. MorriganShadow Poser Moderator

"If political discussions start, they will be deleted." I see several politically oriented messages already - so delete them. Can we have an offtopic forum again yet? Condolences to all those affected by needless death and violence - everywhere, everyday. Unzipped

@chohole: Now isn't that just what we admire most about you Brits - your indomitable spirit in the face of any adversity :)

I want to add my prayers and condolences to those who've lost loved ones in this horrendous act. Edited in the interests of PC. I don't want the thread locked on my behalf.

This is the second time I have seen a mod infer (if not outright prohibit) that making political comments will not be allowed. For the life of me (pardon my ignorance), I cannot read a reference in the TOS that says I am not allowed to say that I think Bush is (either) right or wrong in doing (fill in the blank). In fact, the TOS addresses the fact that images making political statements are allowed but CAN be removed at the discression of the R'City staff. BUT, apparently, you aren't allowed to actually write a political statement. shakes head Additionally, I'm not sure when MorriganShadow became a mind reader and determined this thread was posted by the originator and ONLY applicable to sending condolences and no political statements have a place here. Between the incredible slowness of this site and the continuing pressure for all members to "dance to the music R'City" accepts, the more I wonder why I bother surfing here. Yeah, yeah, I know. It's a private business like a club that has the right to prohibit blacks from joining...I don't need that reminder. So, getting in step with all the politically correct widgets coming off the assembly line, I empathize with England/London. I've visited that great country and city twice and loved it there. Keep a stiff upper lip.

It is beginning to look as if a high proportion of the victims are foreign students and tourists. It does seem especially sad somehow that it should be holidaymakers, young people and guests in our country :(

ChuckEvans;

as MorriganShadow said "political arguments lead to flaming members, slandering names, and that's not something anyone needs right now".

It's also totally pointless isn't it? Do you think that anything Xeno says to me in the Poser forum is going to convert me to his point of view, or visa versa, it just generates heat with no light. I'm just sorry I took the bait.

ChuckEvans, As MorriganShadow has stated above (and ijwhitam), "political arguments lead to flaming members, slandering names, and that's not something anyone needs right now". Meaning, this really is not the time or the forum to point fingers at whos fault these attacks my be..etc. Its best to keep negitive comments to yourself. If this begins to get out of hand this will be locked. But lets not get to that point. My prayers are with all the families that have losted a love one or is hurt. Thanks Guys! At the request of the Mods, I'll keep it down here......

But if we ever discuss Pearl Harbor in the future, then we'll have to do it without mentioning the Japanese. It was something that just 'happened'.....a natural disaster......like an earthquake or a tsunami. No human agency was involved: no one to "point fingers" at.

BTW -- no fingers need to be pointed. The perpetrators are more than happy to take credit for the accomplishment themselves.

ryuslilangel, jwhitham, I was referring to this post of a mod... "Also, this post is here to offer condolences to those that we can. If political discussions start, they will be deleted." ...where the mod proposed to know the intent of the originator of the thread (whose original post read, "There have been 6 bomb explosions in London shortly before 9:00 am. AQ are claiming responsibility.") and also stated that the thread will be locked "if political discussions start". Note, there was no mention of personal attacks. So, it looks like the thread would be locked if a political discussion started because it MIGHT lead to personal attacks. Using that logic, I should never be allowed to own a gun because I MIGHT use it illegally.

Alright, that's enough. Clearly there are those who only wish to take this opportunity to start arguments of a political nature. Take your axes elsewhere to grind, folks. Karen Poser Mod Safe in Yorkshire but hurting for London.
