Subject: Pine Trees?

Jonj1611 ( ) posted Sat, 09 July 2005 at 7:20 AM · edited Sat, 02 November 2024 at 11:46 PM

Hi, Does anybody know where I can get a good hi-quality pine tree model? I know a fir tree comes with Vue 4.22 but I think pine trees are a bit different :- http://www.tin-net.com/hobby/travel/19980613-norikura-kougen/image/pine_tree.jpg I have tried the market place for Vue and could not find one. Any help appreciated. Jon

Look at RDNA, there are some in the OldWood package. They are done for Poser but work in Vue as well - of course you must have Poser for that.

Haven't you bought Vue for that? The native import of Poser elements into that? I would say 75% did that because of that reason. However, as i said you need Poser to use the models i have in mind. RDNA. I enclose the link to there. You need to sign in there (free). Then you select under "artists" Modualz. You browse through the 200 products almost to the end and there it is, the Old Wood pines mega pack!

Then maybe you know someone with Poser that can convert the models for you? There is nothing you need to do in Poser with those, you simply install them, save them as pz3 (or obj or whatever) , import that into Vue and save them as vob. The weak point in that is that in difference to Vues internal vegetation engine (SolidGrowth) you don't get variations of the plant of course. Always the same looking tree and thats it. So maybe it is an option to create your own pine with the plant editor!

Would love to create my own plants, but I am using Vue 4.11 d'espirit. It has no plant editor unfortunately. Is there a fully functional Poser demo I wonder? Maybe that might work. Thanks Jon

I don't think there is one i am afraid. But maybe you simply contact the guy who is offering those and ask wether it is possible to get them as obj-files.

Poser demo now available. I enclose the link. I read that in another forum yesterday and checked it. Limited functionality - whatever that means. Maybe you try it out and see wether it can help you!

Wen to download the Poser demo, they sent me an e-mail with a link to the download, or so they say, because I haven't received anything yet. Does anyone know if it's an automatic mail or do I have to wait till monday? Will post in the Poser forum too.

I will always assumed these things were instant. Maybe worth checking your spam email filter if you have one. Jon www.jonsmedia.com
