it's called parenting. Smart props (I think) come pre-parented. If you parent a pistol to the hand, it should go where it's supposed to. I think you accomplish this by using 'conform to' (or it's at least 1 way..;), I'm in deep water here, stand by for more coherent answers..;)
I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Position the prop wherever you want it (such as the pistol in the character's hand), and with the prop selected go to the object window, and choose Change Parent. Then deselect everything, and select the hand the prop is to be "stuck" to. Or you could go to the Properties section of the Parameters window and do the same steps under Set Parent.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.
Yes you are getting into smart prop territory. To turn a prop into a smart prop, position it relitive to the body part you want to "stick" it to, then parent it to that body part (or you can parent it first, then position it). Next, save the prop to a Props pallet, Poser will prompt you 'This prop has a parent, do you want to save it as a smart prop', answer 'Yes'. Don't use 'Select Subset', or it won't work.

Greetings! I feel a little silly with this one: Ive been making quite a few props in Wings 3D and importing them to Poser 5 as Wavefront .OBJ files. Now, is there a way, for lack of a better term, to stick them to Poser/DAZ figures? For example, have a pistol attached to the hand of the figure holding it so the gun moves with the hand. I dont know if Im getting into smart props territories with this. Any advice? Thanks!
