THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: There otta be a Bryce Artists Registry...

bandolin ( ) posted Tue, 12 July 2005 at 7:48 AM · edited Fri, 15 November 2024 at 12:09 AM

Just surfing the web and dropped in at delphiforums/bryce and found this artist. bryce-alive.net I was thinking, how many Bryce artists are out there that I don't even know about, cause they don't hang around here. What I really like about this guy, is he explains his methodology on how he builds his scenes. To an intermediate Brycer like me, his explanations are like gold. All Bryce artists should be forced to register at a central site. WHY? Well, to help me of course. Oh, and some of you others too. ;-)

Can you imagine trying to force Brycers to do anything :-)

Can you imagine how slow the site would be; when every Brycer was online at once:)

I never intended to make art.

I agree! But only Bryce Purists should register - anyone using Wings3D should be ex-communicated!

does that mean I have to switch to Blender?..;)dang, even the tutorials for that are hard to follow, keep remembering something from school, albeit modified 'object can't, edit won't..;) If they'd bring back the 'ol Watchful Eye place, I'd be happy..;)

Glad you like my site, Bandolin. When I was a beginner I really appreciated help from the "bryce-gods". Now that I am no longer a beginner, (perhaps an established novice at best IMHO) I can put back what I took out of the community, and I like to tell people how I did things. It takes the mystery and the fear out of the creation process for beginners. Will I be banned for using Rhino3D and Poser? Hamfast P.S. Thansk Ro for telling me about this thread

Son-of-a-gun. First time I've seen your handle, hamfast. I hope ppl here don't think I was shamelessly plugging your site. Just thought it was well done, content and all. I like to point out the good stuff. Or at least what I find to be good. And I keep my mouth shut about individual bad stuff, but I might critisize bad stuff in a global sense w/o pointing out any specific artwork.

Just to say thanks for bringing that to my attention too. The images are stunning and being able to read the background really helps learning. But that tutorial on Bump for Poser figures felt like a revolutionary AHA moment for me. Thanks Bandolin and Hamfast :)
