Here's a link to the preview page for my upcoming book, Beyond Jupiter: The Story of Planetary Astronomer Heidi Hammel, including a Hawaiian Big Island travelogue culminating with my three nights in the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility at the peak of Mauna Kea.

I don't expect to be terribly active here, but I will drop in from time to time. My main interest since leaving my 25-year science career ten years ago to write full time is [science for children](http://www.fredbortz.com), but I have more recently gotten very involved in [reviews of science books for adult readers](http://www.scienceshelf.com), publishing reviews in several major metropolitan newspapers. My published book reviews include two about writing for children, It's a Bunny-Eat-Bunny World by Olga Litowinsky and Take Joy by Jane Yolen.
I'd be glad to "meet" people with similar interests, and I'm always looking for new clients for my book reviews. If you know a book review editor who needs someone to review science and science-related topics, please tell me about them.
Meanwhile, for fun, try my reviews of Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers and Driving Mr. Albert: A Trip Across America With Einstein's Brain.
And don't miss Dee-Marie's guest review of Space Artist David A. Hardy's wonderful FUTURES.
