I have been approached by a realator that sells luxury homes, he wants to use one of my images, does anyone know what kind of form I would need to use to give him a one time use? ***************************************** I have been shooting these weddings as of late and would like to provide my clients with a copyright release from me, so that they may reprint images. Is there a standard form for this? I figure there must be someone in this forum that knows something about this? I have googled and found Model release forms for the client to fill out so that I may use the images and I use them. I am wondering if this form would suffice for letting the client do the printing if I fill it out and sign it? Brenda :) MODEL RELEASE In exchange for consideration received, I hereby give permission to __________________ to use my name and photographic likeness in all forms and media for advertising, trade, and any other lawful purposes. Print Name: Signature: Date: **If Model is under 18: I, ____________________, am the parent/legal guardian of the individual named above, I have read this release and approve of its terms. First question...... You need to write up a license for one time use. It needs to be very specific. Fee paid for use. Where it is going to be used, when it is going to be used and for how long. I'm sorry I do not have an example to show you. As to the second question the model release simply protects you from being sued. They are giving you permission to use their likeness for promotional purposes etc..... A form letter with your letterhead or logo on it given to your clients or included on the cd of images which says you have waived your copyright and that they have your permission to use the images in any way they see fit should suffice. Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer.... if you want to make sure you do things right you may want to check with your attorney.... or give a call to some local photographers to find out what they do. :~)

I am, therefore I create.......

Thanks tons Chelle! We are going to do a one time use on the first and second publication, and then they may want sign a contract for 10 more publications (monthly publication) if it helps to bring in clients and readers. I just posted the image in the gallery tonight. He also stated that he may be interested in other images that I have done in that area. As for a letter on letterhead, well I haven't gotten so far to have letterhead printed but I do have a stamp I think will suffice. I just want to make sure that the brides can print more images if they want without any hassle. The model release I provided is the one that I use so that I may show the work that I have done. I may just contact my attorney about the licensing part, as I am new to this. Thanks again! Brenda :)
