I know ardiva. but since I was getting lots of ebot messages from accidentally not unselecting the email on reply, I blacklisted the ebot addy. an have enjoyed not getting 250 ebots a day, as well as not having to worry about telling the scripts that I don't want to get any ebot messages. so lots of bounced ebots. ( the ebot setting should be in user profile, not in the forum scripting ) then each user can set it for themselves as they want. the forum option to off, and if changed to yes over-ride profile setting for one thread, if switched back to no, then stop sending ebot message on thread. I've enjoyed months of ebot free existance.

Just stop visiting the thread. If you get another notice on that thread, just delete it and don't go back ;). Or, you can post a message with nothing more than ".", and un-select "Email me when someone replies". MS

We've been asking them for years to turn ebots off by default. It would make sense for them to pummel the techs into doing it, since it would cut down on their bandwidth costs and speed up the servers.

they did a survey a couple of months back, majority voted to keep it the way it is. defaulted to suck badwidth and slow the site down. ( and why I just blacklisted the ebot addy )

Ay, dios mio! Somehow I missed that vote, Jaq. I just hope the techs didn't add 50,000 votes to the "keep it the same as it is now" column.

Best thing I've found to do is "Not Go Back" to that thread. The ebot thinks you have not responed yet and doesn't send any more notices. Tom

Nodda problem. Just remember that if you ever get curious and go back and take a peek at the thread,the software records that and it'll generate an e-bot the next time someone adds a post. Tom
