Here is an update on her condition, this is an excerpt from her last email. Sounds encouraging. :O)

Hi Rob,
I want to start out by saying I am home from my lung surgery at last...I obviously made it through the surgery and now I am in the recovery stages..I feel like I was ran over by every semi in the world but I made it so far. The good side is so far it looks like the surgery was a success after removing a good portion of the lung, though it looks like a month or two down the road I will need some follow up chemo treatments to insure they got all the cancer etc. So that is the good side, the downside is I am so full of pain there are times it is barely even tolerable no matter what pain killers they give me..

Oh, yes, sadly very ill. Just prior to this she had to have surgery for a brain aneurysm. For the last six months or so, it has been real touch and go. Only now does it begin to look as if the worse is behind her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Rob

She sounds like a tough lady. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

"It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi

This seems like good news - I will keep my fingers crossed. Let her know we're thinking of her.

I've been through chemo..it's no picnic..but at least you know it's going to be over at some point. I termed it 'chemically-induced old age'. Good luck.

When the body gets beaten down, it is too easy for any other opportunistic bug to move in. If she keeps hope up and follows the doctor's orders, she'll heal faster. Wish her well for us! Carolly

Rob, tell her to hang in there, we're praying and pulling for her ;) Deb
