Subject: procedural water materials

I'm looking for a water material that would allow me to add water drops to a character. Such as when one gets out of the pool, or is hot from being in the sun. any help or direction would be welcome. Thank you

Bookmark here too. I saw in face_off's interview at RDNA that it was possible to incorporate vein and wrinkle add-ins to the Realism kits...perhaps water drops and cascading water is possible too.

Displacement mappin, meboy. It's all there. Only your time is required. Neftis has some examples in Developer forum.

richardson, thanks for the tip! Do you have a link to that thread (or some words to search on)? I'm not finding any posts by Neftis over there.

Strange...it's gone. Sorry, Pablo...sure there are others who know where to look.

That's an extreme bummer. I've seen previous dicussions of mapping water but not too many that looked like convincing water drops, cascades, etc. Thanks for looking. :)

Is this the sort of look you're after? This is one of the shaders from my shader pack in free stuff. It's designed to only put water droplets on the figure above a certain hight (so you don't get water droplets on the parts of the skin that are under the surface level of the pool). You can adjust the hight by tweeking one node in the shader.

PS, the water props and the pool etc are contained in a pz3 file in the download.

Here's some other thoughts on the topic at RDNA using a V3 clone
