Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 03 1:41 pm)
I asume, that you are talking about "external runtimes". Then the answer is yes, you can name them anything you like. You just have to keep the filestructure within those folders intact. That way you can have your folders like V3 Clothes with it's subfolders camera, character, face, hair, lights, materials, pose and props. Martin
Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.
"But you can create subfolders like characters/woman/V3 ... " Sure, you can do that. But if you have lots of figures you may end up with an equal number of subfolders in your woman subdirectory and an equally huge runtime. If you're doing it the way Marque is heading, you'll have a separate runtime for each figure. And you need to connect those runtimes only when you're going to use something of that content. I've found that working with smaller runtimes is much more effective and faster when working with Poser.

Sure you are right, I am working with different runtimes too but in my main runtime I have the figures I use very often in seperate subdirs to have only a few (less than 10 on a 1280 x 1024 screen) thumbs in my subdirs

Know this has probably been asked a hundred times but taking too long for the search. As I add runtimes they come up as Poser, wondering if I can rename the subdirectory to say...V3 Clothes, M3 Clothes, Buildings etc.? Thought I would ask before I screw everything up by just trying it. Thanks, Marque
