Subject: Curious About "rosity Coupons

Saro ( ) posted Sat, 30 July 2005 at 2:06 AM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 8:02 AM

Every once and a while I get these 10% coupons from here. I have never spent $30 dollars on anything here ever. Does anyone else use these on a regular basis? I am just wondering how useful they actually are. It always seemed like a pretty steep price just to get a a few dollars off...I wish they would lower it a bit so I could actually use them once and awhile. Even lowering it to $20-25 would be nice, and much more attainable (for me anyway). Any thoughts?

I use them once in a while, usually when the coupon coincides with available finances and a wishlist. :)

They are lowerd already, they used to be for $35.
Anyway, I get them regulary at the end of the month, but I use them very seldom.

You know what is right for you. I know what is right for me.

Mine come at the end of the month as well. But, I'm using them less and lesser. Because everyone else has such great sales earlier in the month, by the time I get Renderosity's coupon, I've spent my budget for the month. This month it came down to, buying what I have in my cart here or shopping at Daz, for 30%off in the entire store and reward vouchers. I don't have to tell you how that went down

They should warn in your shopping card also.

A better method would be that after, say, ten purchases, you get a coupon of 10% on the amount of your purchases. Or something like: "hey, we noticed you spent $500 here at our marketplace. Therefore you get a coupon for $50. Thanks for buying here at R."

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

I use them. I generally don't buy anything at Rosity unless I have a coupon. I just save up things on my wish list. When I get a coupon, I look through my list, see what's on sale, and buy those things, with the coupon. Because I only make purchases occasionally, it's not hard to reach the $30 limit.

I very rarely use them, but with the latest one I had a fairly large wishlist which I'd been building up over the last couple of months so I just bought some of them to use it. What makes me laugh, every time I get a coupon, is the email says "Make spectacular savings." Having to spend $30 to get a 10% saving is not my idea of spectacular.

I use them. I usually save up my purchases for a week or two or three. If a sale turns up, that encourages me to buy. If I get a coupon, that's a little bonus. Heck, I'll use a 25 cent coupon to buy a $6 sack of cat litter; why wouldn't I use a coupon to save some money on products I intended to buy anyway?

Never use 'em. Timing's always wrong and the discounts's not enough to make it worth my while if I've gotta spend thirty bucks to get it. Not on my budget, anyway. :-(

I almost only buy with coupons. Save up stuff and wait for them.

Except when something is on sale and the sale ends before a coupon comes.

A better discount would definitely get me buying more stuff. 10% insn't much. :] Fish

I really like shopping here, but the coupons suck... I have never used em once.

shedofjoy ( ) posted Sat, 30 July 2005 at 6:40 PM

I have to agree, the R coupons are not that exciting, i spend more at Daz with all the coupons and offers than i do here, so by the time i have spent my money on Daz bits i have little left over...

Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.

Saro ( ) posted Sat, 30 July 2005 at 10:23 PM

Yeah, I spend more of my $$$ at Daz too. PC membership is a definite perk, and you get a lot of discounts on top of that. I wonder if the coupons here aren't very useful because merchants don't want to lower their prices or lose money. While in some ways I can't blame them, a discounted price is better than no sales at all.

I use them and I appreciate them.

Sheesh! I've spent a lot here during the past few months, but I've never received a coupon from Renderosity. Where are you getting them? Thanks, Bobette Bryan

randym77 ( ) posted Sun, 31 July 2005 at 5:37 AM

They arrive via e-mail. Check your profile, and make sure you have "receive special offers" checked. (You probably want to receive the newsletter, too. There's a freebie every month in the newsletter.)

If you have receive special offers checked, but still aren't getting anything, it's probably the spam filter on your side.

Thanks, Randym. I'll check into that. Hopefully, I'll start getting the coupons. :-)
