Subject: Bizarre Occurance in Poser 5

I had something strange happen in Poser 5 and couldn't figure out how to fix it, so I had to delete everything and start fresh from the beginning. I had Vicky in the Pose window. I had the whole figure done when I decided to add some earrings that I received from Karanta for customer appreciation (thanks again! :) ) The figure was in face camera view when I decided to apply the earrings. The earrings are props. I applied one earring in face camera view and went to parent it to the head (didn't know if I had to, but did it anyway). Suddenly the figure looked all bent out of shape. I returned to the main camera view and the figure had shot up to the top of my window and beyond....only the feet were visible, and look like they were zoomed forward because the whole thing seemed much larger than it was in the original main camera view. I checked the parameters dial and the values were still all zero for the axis dials. I used the icons above the window to move the figure down and back. The figure was part way through the "floor"...about 1/2 way through I guess, and the dress was no longer conformed to the figure. I tried to reconform the dress to the figure, but when I tried to do that, the figure didn't show up in the menu as a selection.. just the hair and the shoes did. I used the parameter dials to reposition the figure above the floor (so now the dials had values when they didn't initiall), but the dress still couldn't be conformed again. For me to get the dress back in place, I had to use the dials to move the figure up or down to place it inside the dress. I deleted the earring and the figure went all wonky on the screen again like before. Can someone please explain this weirdness to me, and how I could have fixed it without having to have started from the beginning again? I'm usually pretty good at saving things, but I hadn't saved the figure before I applied the earring. After I redid the figure, I applied the earrings in main camera view and had no difficulty. I've noticed that applying things in face camera view causes some weird phenomena to happen. I've had similar occurances at other times in the past, but this was the most weird of all.

It could have been some strange cross talk effect happening maybe with your figure and the dress, you could try using the cross talk fixer to see if that stops the problem happening.

Acadia, yes things like this have happened to me before (tho maybe not so extreme...) Suggestions: 1. Always apply props (and conforming clothing, for that matter) in the mai/aux/posing cam. 2. If things look totally wierd, try a render - it might just be a preview problem. 3. Save BEFORE you apply anything!!! Chers, Diolma
