Subject: Aiko 3's nether regions...

SamTherapy ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 5:03 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 9:52 PM

Try as I might, I cannot find a dial to bring out A3's pubic hair. I know it's there but looking in Body and Hip gives me absolutely nowt. BTW, I am talking about the bought version of A3 here, not the A3LE freebie. Any help appreciated.

Sorry for my disgusting english, Sam. "Bring out A3's pubic hair" mean you want pubic hair or not?

Yep, I want the Pubic Hair zone to be visible. By the way, your English isn't disgusting at all. Maybe a little different, given it's not your native language, but still very good.

Thanks, Sam Im not at home, so I cant try the Aikos dials (I have both LE and bought versions) But for Aiko3 pubic hair you can try this

Thank you but it's not quite what I need. I've created a character which works on V3, SP3, She Freak and Aiko 3, except I can't get the damn pubic hair to show on Aiko. I never paint the furry bits on the texture, so I need to get the pubic hair material to show.

Also Arduino has a free Pubic prop for Aiko (www.arduino.net)

Thanks, people but that's not what I mean. It's like this... Aiko 3 has a pubic hair material zone but it doesn't show and I need to know how to make it visible. The default morph has it hidden inside the hip but I cannot find a dial to make it show up. I don't need an addon prop, I just need to know how to make that particular zone visible.

Hi Sam, I just made a morph target to bring out Aiko's pubic hair, would you like it? -3dz

Hi 3dz. Thank you. That's very kind of you. Here's my problem... I'm making a character pack for sale and I want the maps to be consistent across the range of DAX Gen 3 models. If Aiko doesn't have a DAZ built way of unhiding the Pubic Hair zone I can't really use it in a commercial package. The character is primarily for V3 and SP3 but I thought to include a bonus set for A3 and She Freak. If worst comes to worst I'll omit A3 from the pack. I suppose I could just add the pubic hair to the texture but I hate doing that.

Why does Aiko have pubic hair, but not a morph to bring it out?

I could see leaving it off altogether, since she's supposed to be a "toon" figure, but it's there, just unusable. Weird.

The3dZone ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 6:39 AM

that's a good question to ask Daz I guess...lol

I have posted a question in the DAZ forums. IMO, it's sloppy character development to have the zone there but not use it.

Yeah I think she is just broken. I recently bought Arduino's Magic Perfect G for Aiko and it does have a morph to unhide it... Not that that will help you... You might ask quarker for permission to include his pubic hair prop free with your product, who knows.

RHaseltine ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 9:36 AM

If they took the mesh out then the Hip and possibly Buttock groups would be different, making morphs incompatible with V3 and SP. I suspect that Luke and laura and maddie and Matt have the mesh too, though it may not have a material applied to it.

Letterworks ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 10:51 AM

A little experimenting shows that by using morph manager to transfer the pubichair morph from steph3 to aiko3 allows you to use the steph3 morph injection for the pubichair to "activate" the dials. Of course, you might be able to make your own injection file to make it work, I haven't learned enough about morph injection to tell. It seems to be a legacy of the unimesh. mike

I suspect that Luke and laura and maddie and Matt have the mesh too, though it may not have a material applied to it. Nope,I just loaded Maddie and Laura into modeler and the pubic hair geometry is not in their mesh. the fact that it IS in A3's would leave me to believe that they just forget to make the dial,it would not be that big of an issue to create it,so I think they (Daz) should, and send out an update. -3dz

There is no logical reason to exclude it as Aiko is an adult figure. Unless they were going for the "Authentic" Prohibition of showing the "nether region" as in Japanese law... In which case she should actually have a perpetual digitized mozaic over her goodies :p (In fact Pubic hair has been allowed for a number of years now though.)

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 12:59 PM

When I first came across this I tried a P5 displacement map. For what I've done with Aiko it isn't significant but, yes, it does look careless.

tastiger ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 4:06 PM

It's annoying - I just finished a character Pack to work over the entire range of Unimesh girls and I had the same issue - it would be nice to have the pubic hair dial......

Why is it so important for the character to have pubic hair for an A3 version of the character? However, if the end-user wants pubic hair on A3, they can easily make their own morph target for it by doing thusly: Open grouping tool Select Hip Create new group Name the new group whatever you want hit add material/pubic hair close grouping tool Create a magnet on the hip select the magnet's zone and go to properties click the by group box, and find the group you created Make the zone really, really big Use the magnet on the z axis to bring out the pubic hair When it is properly positioned, spawn a morph target your pubic hair texture will be in place if they used your MAT file. -WTB

What's Lolicon? For me it was the curiousity raised by the question. It's a really quick fix if you care to do it, but it doesn't do anything for my Aiko projects. mike

Why is it so important for the character to have pubic hair for an A3 version of the character? In my case the A3 Character was based on the "realistic" morphs which gives you something a little more life like than the anime version. So for me pubic hair would have been an added touch to the texture....

If you use Morph Manager to transfer the PBMPubic Hair channel from either Vic3 or SP3 to Aiko...then those rem/inj morphs will unhide the fuzzy wuzzy. Know why pubic hair is curly?....... So it don't poke you in the eye. Sick SWAMP

SWAMP ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2005 at 11:09 PM

PS..I guess you would have to check with Daz to see if that is OK to include that morph. If not, you can just include instructions on how to do it with the free VicSAE cr2 and the free MorphManager. SWAMP

"Why is it so important for the character to have pubic hair for an A3 version of the character?" Because one thing I do not do is paint pubic hair on my characters. One of my "selling points", perhaps, is that I use the material zone provided. This gives the end user to change the style of pubic hair, or remove it entirely if they prefer. The character is for V3 and SP3. I was going to include a version for A3 realistic too but I won't bother if I have to paint on the hairy bits. "Lolicon, that's why, Will." ? What?

But Sam, you don't have to paint on the pubic hair, just leave it empty and if the end user wants to turn on the pubic hair using whatever method they come up with, then it will be there. Understand that regardless of whether or not the pubic hair is showing when they apply your MAT, your texture will still be on that part of the mesh when it DOES show. So it's not like you're failing to include anything and with or without the end-user's desire to display pubic hair, they still have a new character for A3. Yes?

SamTherapy ( ) posted Wed, 03 August 2005 at 2:42 PM

True enough, WTB. I just don't like the idea of saying to my customers, "Well, it's there but you can't use it unless you get something else from somebody else". Then again, if I do include the A3 version at least it gives people the option. Oh, bugger it. You convinced me. The A3 version goes into the pack. :)
