Subject: More Fireworks.

Here is 2 B&W ones. Got a tip that fireworks may look decent B&W so... after thinking, what's the point of that(thought colour is how they should be seen)...I tried it. Used a bit of sharpening. I say not too bad at all. Hope there will be no "told ya sooo" LOL Marlene

well the less than 200k really killed them..

If you haven't, you should check mine out in the post right before this one. Mine are all brilliant color. and closer. The lauch site was less than 150 meters away. BTW, B&W is pretty neat looking, but color is definitely the way to go. Good job.

Hi Marlene, I'm new here and certainly no critic, but had to say I particularly like the top B+W photo. I was exposed quite a bit to photography growing up and my father went through a B+W stage. Even though taken at a distance, your top photo comes out beautifully with the silouette of the trees and reflected water in the forground. It feels as though the fireworks are being enjoyed on summer evening from a back porch. Tara

Oh Hi Tara....uhmmmm sorry about my wording...but somewhere Marlene said that fireworks images can look good in B&W. I was thinking hmmmm...whats the point of nice coloured firewoks bing black and white. anyways... I said hope I don't see her say told ya so. I'm Doug....dBgrafix...welcome to the photogrpahy forum.I hoe to see something in your gallery soon...and anything that you might want to talk about here.Lot's of knowledge here. Just ask...or tell.

Lol!Hi Tara!I'm Marlene,lol.Nice to meet ya. Doug they look great.Something about fireworks in black and white appeals to me.Maybe because I think it could have a 'Woody Allen-esque' feel to it.I really like the top one.Although I think you could crop the top a bit.And the third is stunning,altho admittedly NOT b/w.Unfortunate about the 200k.I sympathise...

Nice job, I think B&W works especially with the lake in the foreground and the city lights on the side. I really like the 3rd one best.

I guess it would have to depend on the image, but I'd say as a rule, color is the way to go. I liked the others too, but your color version really takes the cake. And pie.

Ah!!! I love the second B&W one!! Very stylish!!! Everything can look good in B&W IMHO!! That colored one also looks awesome!! U did wonderfully on these Douggy! ;)

the b/w does look good here with the water's reflection & distant lights of the city marlene, errr doug :] but i do like the colored ones too, ecspecially when they're close up like Tombin's
