The PBS series "Secrets of the Pharaohs" reveals some really interesting insights for those interested in modeling Ancient Egypt and the Pyramids... The series features some really excellent photo-realistic simulations and composites of what building the pyramids was like... Even more interesting- research reveals that the primary Pyramid workforce numbered only approximately 5000 skilled engineers and technicians, which lived well, ate fresh fish and high quality cuts of beef, had a variety of good locally brewed beers to drink, raised large families and had good medical care... The remaining "Grunt" workforce was not 100,000 slaves as theorized, but no more than 15,000 additional highly motivated and patriotic civilians who worked shifts and did only periodic "Pyramid Duty" and then returned to their rural occupations... Pyramids were built using logical engineering methods not unlike modern Airport and Hydroelectric Dam construction projects, allowing Pyramids to be constructed efficiently within a 20 year time-frame...

What a huge crock of shit. -Darth

It certainly is, Darth. Every one knows the pyramids were levitated into place by aliens from Andromeda.

At the very least, the pyramids have been succesfully demonstrated to have been created circa 20,000 BC when the Nile Valley was lush and green with vegetation and water. Not only does this lay waste to the Pyramids being made by Egyptians, it verifies Sumerian Cuneform tablets which claim that the Pyramids were created by Sumerians, particularly their living Gods. Sumerian texts also describe the fantastic process with which the Gods built the pyramids: Music. If you take a step back from that explanation and look at it with a modern eye, one might think about the nature of subsonic frequencies, microwave freqs etc... there is much we don't know about these areas. Could certain frequencies lift objects if properly directed? Who knows? The ancients say yes. So, laugh all you want, if you want to buy into this party line Egypto-lie go for it. However, if you can set aside for just one moment the idea that everything you learned in school is God's honest truth, then maybe we can have an intelligent conversation about ancient history? -Darth_Logice

speaking of harmonics..... there is a theory that the pyramids in africa and south america were used to turn the earth into a giant crystal radio.... cant remember the details, but i can look them up... um... if i unpack my books...

I've heard similar things, but not that the Earth was a giant radio so much as the pyramids themselves were communication structures of various uses. Other radios include the Ark of the Covenant. -Darth

Yes Darth, your "research" certainly does totally refute the absolutely sloppy work of all these dedicated archeologists and forensic scientists...

What interested me about a recent program was the positioning of the pyramids and their relationship to the positioning of the stars of Orion. As seen from above the Pyramids at Giza are in the same alignment as the stars in Orion's belt. Which was the location in the sky that the Eygptions believed Osirus went to after his death to rule over the Underworld. There is however one pyramid missing from the configuration. The one for the upper right hand. That pyramid would be located near the Nile itself. I would like to see them go to the approximate location see if they could find the remains of that pyramid. I would also like to see more information on the discovery of the tunnels under the Giza plateau, particularly the one that heads off in the direction under the Sphynx. Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

Yes, those well-meaning scientists... I can't remember the guys name, but one such scientist was discovered to have forged heiroglyphics into one of the Pyramids to plant false evidence that it was associated with a pharoah. A whole lot of so-called science is pure bullshit. The reasons to hide truth from the masses by those in power are endless. In fact, it would be HIGHLY ILLOGICAL for those in power to allow truth to be given to the public en masse, whatever the truth may be. For those who really want to believe in Santa Claus and Egyptian Pyramids built to house Pharoah corpses, party on...like I said...but you're not taking the time to listen to opposing viewpoints which is exactly why so-called science well, isn't science at all. -Darth_Logice

Darth- I went through all those hippy-dippy books and delusional phases years ago. Like the Beatles said- it opens some new doors, but it isn't the answer. Once you have really taken to courage, with a CLEAR and OPEN MIND, to analyize the world around you, well... (by BTW, there isn't a REAL tooth-fairy and the Easter Bunny doesn't really hide the eggs in your yard on Easter...It's your MOM and DAD!!!) Dreamspinner- My interest in the Pyramids and even many other fascinating historical mysteries has only increased over the years. I think the new and carefully documented research in this respected PBS series only heightens my interest and great respect for what the ancient Egyptians ACTUALLY did. It seems like these researchers are going about this intelligently and carefully. There only "problem" is they can't throw everyone out of the nearby city and totally dig up the entire area- people wouldn't like that. And it would take a LOT of time and money...

Darth_Logice ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 4:08 PM

Fox, Egyptians didn't build the Pyramids, PERIOD. If you believe for one second that they were built in the era of Pharoahs you simply HAVE NOT EXAMINED the evidence, or are being intentionally ignorant. I'm sorry if I didn't allow the Beatles to close my mind to common sense, but I'm not one to take advice from musicians from the Sixties. After all, look what their "free love" idealism brought us?

Darth- I can only take this entire conversation with you as either a high form of satire on your part or you are an ardent fan of the "Threatre of the Absurd" school of thought... Did you do any Miming on the streets of San Francisco a few years back? Creating imaginary windows to open and glass doors to run into? Do any Waiting for Godot?...

Hey guys, I don't know about you but I personally know Santa. He lives down the street from me.

I've got to get in on this. With all the "knowledge" scientist have they can't figure out how men move a big rock. Hell even fish they said were extinct get hung up in fishing nets. I think somewhere in the past we lost something.
