Hey I just wanted to pop in and say Hi and see if anyone else is into Macro photography and where a lot of ya'll are from, I'm out in the burbs of Philly PA. Know some great locations for anyone in the area looking for some bug opportunities. Anyway, I'll try to pop in as often as I can (but between 40 hours of work a week and the little spare time at home it can be hard) Ciao! Paul

Hi Paul, i can relate to the time problem... didnt have a lot of it lately either :( Consequently, i didnt see your work till a few minutes ago and i must say im impressed. We can always use a macro photographer of your skill around here, and im sure im speaking for all of us :o) To answer your question, im very much into macro. In fact, its pretty much the only thing i do... well when im using my cam ofcourse, i do have a life LOL ;o) Im live in Holland (The Netherlands). You know... the small country next to Germany... :o) I live in a 'polder' so there not much to photograph here landscape-wise. Anyways, nice to meet you and welcome to the photography gallery :o) Jeroen

Welcome Paul. I love macro...and everything else too. Not focused on any one thing, but that is what makes life fun, eh? I'm down in FL...plenty of bugs and what-nots to shoot here too. :) Here's a little something I found in my garden this morning. Any idea what kind of insect it is? It looks like it was either pigging out on nectar, or is getting old and crusty. Can't tell which. :) --Kort

Hello Paul! Lots of great macro photographers here. (I'm not exactly one of them) I love macros, but my camera only does it sometimes. Welcome to the forum...I'm from CA, by the way. You have some great shots so far. Bugs creep my out unless they are in a photo. ;) Hope to see more from you!

Hey all, thanks for stopping by to say Hi! This place looks like a great community and not just photography wise. Kort - that looks like a moth to me, and what I like to recommend to everyone is a GREAT bug identification site called Bug Guide http://www.bugguide.net. LOTS of experts, it's a free site, everyday people to pro's post pics to submit as already ID'd or to ask for ID. I recommend you post your photo up there! ;) Damia - i can somewhat relate - I have a love relationship with spiders, I love em, but I have nightmares and night-terrors about them - to the point where I wake up and point to them crawling down from the ceiling, crawling on my pillow and what-not,. and there's nothing there (as witnessed by my g/f). Well, cya's all around !
